Happy Friday!
A real life picture of what my livingroom looked like this morning. Caleb had all the couch cushions off so he could jump on them. Jacob thought Seth looked really cute in his outfit so he wanted to take a picture….my hair was still wet from my shower….
The maids came this morning and scrubbed and cleaned every room in the house and it looks and smells so clean. What a blessing!
It’s supposed to get up to 70 today and all the windows are open.
The children are running in and out. Ethan is busy drawing a mushroom that he found outside. David is busy practicing with his new yo-yo that he was given as school today. I can hear Caleb and Jacob talking and laughing outside on the trampoline. Grace is playing with the dog. Seth is napping.
In my spiritual life, I have been reading and thinking a lot about Motherhood. Here are some of my favorite verses:
“Strength and honor are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in the time to come. She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness. Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her. Many daughers have done virtuously, but thou exceedeth them all. Favor is deceitful, and beauty is vain; but a woman who feareth the Lord, she shall be praised.” Proverbs 31:25-30
(a picture of my afternoon quiet/naptime with Seth)
“Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not, for such is the Kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 19:14
(I loved how he was sleeping on his little paw)
“Lo, children are a heritage of the Lord; and the fruit of the womb is His reward.” Psalm 127:3
(He was showing Mama his cute foot)
“And she (Hannah) said, ‘Oh my lord! As your soul lives, my lord (Eli), I am the woman who stood by you here, praying to the Lord. For this child I prayed, and the Lord granted me my petition which I asked of Him. Therefore I have lent him to the Lord; as long as he lives he shall be lent to the Lord.” 1 Samuel 1:26-28
“Let your father and mother be glad, and let her who bore you rejoice.” Proverbs 23:25
(I took these picture of Seth last night, with his Papa~)
“Whatever parents may do for their children, they should at least make their childhood sunny and tender. A happy childhood stores away sunshine in the chambers of the heart which brightens the life to its close.”
“To the little child, home is his world—he knows no other. The father’s love, the mother’s smile, the sister’s embrace, the brother’s welcome, throw about his home a heavenly halo and make it as attractive to him as the home of angels. Childhood has its sorrows and its grievances, but home is the place where these are soothed and banished by the sweet lullaby of a fond mother’s voice.”
