{this moment} – A Friday ritual. A single photo capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember. inspired by soulemama

This picture totally cracks me up. We were getting ready to go somewhere, and as it was pretty early, Jacob was drinking coffee. I went out to hop in the driver’s seat and found this power struggle going on between the firstborn (who thinks he can kick people out of “HIS” seat) and the second born (who wants a turn riding shotgun and is not the least impressed by Jacob’s imagined authority over the rest of the siblings). No one would budge, and they weren’t even talking, until I arrived to be arbitrator.
It was the start of a glorious morning. (ha ha)
Oh I can so relate. My eldest boy is 16 and loves to boss the youngest boy nearly 11 yrs, who doesn’t like to be bossed and is a very strong character. With your two eldest being close in age that would be a bit different. Good photo.
Funny!!! I can relate!!!
Oh boy! lol
This made me LOL! Brought back a ton of memories from when my kids were young and did this. There is just something about that front seat that brings on the power!!! LOL
Were they all like “mom, this is NOT funny!”
lol. I bet they’ll really laugh over that picture in a few years 🙂 my mom put a stop to that fighting by letting the person who was doing dishes for the week sit in the front seat. Never had fights after that 🙂 I’m not sure the privilege equaled out for all the work but I guess you could say there was a perk for doing the job. 🙂
hahaha, I too can relate. Our eldest Daniel was very sure of his authority, and our next one Nick, was totally up to challenging him. In hindsight I am very glad Nick did stand up to Dan, but I did have to learn not to get upset at the squabbles. Love the serious faces, and that you took a photo
Things to look forward to 🙂 So how did it turn out? I’m very curious!
I love that you took this picture! Love it! Someday they will laugh. : )
I am wondering who won??:)
@inanorchard – @sixAs – Who won? Well, I figured since Ethan was there first, he could keep the seat. Jacob had a turn later on in the day. 🙂 Happiness is teenage boys fighting over who gets to sit next to MOM. right?
Incredibly sweet “problem”. I just love young men! Don’t you!! You are a great mother, I am suprised this power struggle thing (tongue in cheek) does not happen more often in your day…who would not want the affections of a wonderful momma!!
Oh girl, how I soooo understand!!!!!
HaHa We have that here too!
You mean other families have this problem?? ;)I was wondering you won also.
Ha ha this I can TOTALLY relate to:) btw on this pic they look like twins!!
I say give Gee the front!
this is funny…look at my post from today…im 11 years apart from my bro, OLDER…but i still get really wounded by what he says to me & i still frustrate him with alot of what i say & do. he asked me to get off his back and some very mean things 😦 wonder how to get along with siblings?
