a spring blouse

A few months ago I was at anthropologie and I found a blouse that I loved right away!  The problem was that it cost 98 dollars!  Oh my word, I would never spend that much on a blouse, even if I loved it!

Well, yesterday I went out shopping and found “my” blouse in anthropologie’s clearance room.  There were two left and one was just the right size for me.

It is a light soft *blousey* material with a pretty tie at the neck, and the perfect shade of green with navy print.  It’s a classic style so I’m sure I will still be wearing it when I’m 75 years old.  Today, I wore it to church and when we got home I asked Rich to take a picture.

Happy First Day of Spring!  Are you doing anything spring-like to celebrate this wonderful event?

  1. So perfect. I love it. I have never bought anything from Anthropologie. I get nervous when I buy clothes–“Can I pull this off?” I like to take a fashion-conscious friend with me to make sure I don’t look scary when I buy clothes! 🙂 For the first day of Spring, let’s see…kids are outside, I bought books online, visited another church (with a banjo–bluegrass music!!!), and have been working on my menu for the week. I must go grocery shopping today while Dave is home or we will not eat this week. It’s hot here–like 80 something. I am wearing a tank top. Ready to firm up my twin tummy so I can wear more of my summery clothes. Anyway, you look lovely. So does sweet Sarah Joy.

  2. For the 1st day of Spring we are having a GRANDSON! Well, of course, God is totally doing this with our son Nick and DIL Alicia, but we are soooo excited. Packing now to drive to Colorado. We are having crazy wind and rain, with snow forecast for Colorado over the Rockies…but Nick says there are pink blossoms in Littleton

  3. Oh, love your pretty green blouse, and you in it! So glad one was saved, just for you, on clearance!! I’ve been washing pretty baby things this week. Too much fun to get out blankets from Nana and flannel gowns my mom made!

  4. I love it! The baby girl on your hip too…and also SPRING! I can’t wait to get home, among other reasons…really it’s too hot down here.Very humid too. (I never thought I would say that!)

  5. The closest Anthropologie is about a two hour drive from my house.  If I eve see anything I want I just let my DIL know and she watches for me since she works at one of their stores back East.  As soon as it hits the clearance room she grabs it up, plus gets the employee discount.

  6. Pretty pictures of you! Today, the girls and I celebrated spring by going to our favorite thrift store. I spent $25 (before a 25% discount reduced that amount) on myself and one item was a light weight “classic” black & white blouse for church. I don’t know that I would EVER look as fresh and glowing as you, but the ruffles make me feel girlie and feminine! BTW: At my site, today, I posted pics of Rissy’s b-day (2/27) and some nature pics (I was inspired by you!).

  7. Oh I LOVE it!  It looks so pretty, and I love how you are wearing it tuckd into your skirt. I just love Anthropologie….everything is so nice there, just expensive. There was a dress I wanted. It was $325!  It finally went on sale and it’s now in their clearance room for $129!  I can’t do it though…..I can’t justify a cotton everyday dress at that price.
