who knew dogs liked tea?

Grace’s tea set is called “My First Fiesta” and it’s made by Homer Laughlin China Co.  I collect fiestaware and when Grace was about 5 she got enough birthday money to order her very own set.  It came in a special box that I kept, it is collectible ( will maintain or increase it’s value) and I hope that she will have it and keep it her whole life.  I’m not sure if HLC still make the tea sets, we ordered her’s through JC Penney but it was a few years ago.  Needless to say, I did NOT want the dog running around with the teacup, which is what he did as soon as he saw me jump toward him to take it from him!  We had to chase him around the livingroom to get him to drop it.  No pictures of that, thankfully!

  1. Love the tea set!  Where did you get it?  We’ve got a plastic one, but I’d love to get something “real” so we can have “real” tea parties.
“I think I like a bit more sugar, please”

  2. That is one lucky uninvited guest.  How did Grace handle it?  Laughter? Oooos and Aaaaaa’s? or scat?  I love the little dollies that joined in on the fun.
In another post you made a comment about all your pictures taking up so much hard drive space.  For right around $100 bucks you can get a small external hard drive that holds volumes and volumes of pictures.  I feel a little safer this way so if my computer crashes I’ll still have the external hard drive.   At the end of the year I’ll burn everything on  DVD’s.

  3. What an adorable tea set. What a blessing to have such a precious little girl who loves tea parties! The picture of the uninvited guest is so adorable and an award winner.  I made the carrot cookies for Thanksgiving, however I used salted butter and also added the salt.  Do you suggest using unsalted butter or just omitting the additional salt?  They were yummy though..great with coffee!  Blessings, Jill

  4. That is so cute how she has her dolls sitting at the table with her.   My girls like to do tea parties to.   It’s so cute to watch them get everything ready & drink tea & talk.   One time before I ask them if I could join & they said, no this is a kids tea party Mommy, ok!:)

  5. Grace is has a very nice tea set…I have always loved that dinnerware.  I feel pretty sure she will care for it well…she appears to be quite the young lady…as taught by her mother.  That dog picture is frameable!  The story that goes with it is just as great.  : )

  6. Thank you for responding to my comment.  They were not too salty, but not very sweet either….just maybe that’s the way they were supposed to be?? 🙂

  7. Tea parties are fun….especially laughed over that scamp of a guest!  David said he is a real “scallyrascal”….one of his new favorite words. My boys love teaparties because they involve baked goods But I would borrow my neice Bri when she was little for the real girlie ones.  So glad that Grace’s beautiful set is still intact! Lord bless your day! Jenny

  8. How fun! I still have my precious, miniature tea set from my childhood years — some 40+ years and I still keep it in case I have a granddaughter some day. 🙂

  9. I love, love, love that tea set!!!! I have seen those on ebay! I really would love to get one for Emma…maybe Christmas! Except she already has her American Girl doll picked out that she wants! Hmmm…The pictures are so sweet! Grace is such a pretty young lady…I almost said little girl…but if she is having tea, we must be proper and say Young Lady! 🙂 Now the dog…hmmm…I am so glad that you got it back! It wasn’t damaged was it? What a cute picture of him, her? (I can’t remember) Once again you took the picture in the moment when I would have been FREAKING out…another true inspiring picture to make me STOP and enjoy life and it’s INTERESTING moments…even when I want to freak! 😉 Enjoy your weekend! I think I may need to go and have myself some PGtips…in my own special tea pot…;)

  10. Too cute! That is so fun. We did a tea party with my mom and sisters for Abby while they were here for Thanskgiving. Abby wore her pink princess crown and you would have thought her world was complete! 🙂
