The words to this hymn are so beautiful. . and such a comfort to me!
My heart can sing when I pause to remember
A heartache here is but a stepping stone
Along a trail that’s winding always upward,
This troubled world is not my final home.
But until then my heart will go on singing,
Until then with joy I’ll carry on,
Until the day my eyes behold the city,
Until the day God calls me home.
The things of earth will dim and lose their value
If we recall they’re borrowed for awhile;
And things of earth that cause the heart to tremble,
Remembered there will only bring a smile.
But until then my heart will go on singing,
Until then with joy I’ll carry on,
Until the day my eyes behold the city,
Until the day God calls me home.
This weary world with all its toil and struggle
May take its toll of misery and strife;
The soul of man is like a waiting falcon;
When it’s released, it’s destined for the skies.
I love these thoughts. A recent update on the Living Proof Ministries blog along the same lines…
. . . until then ~ what a hope!
I love that song. Lovely pictures, too. Hope you’re having a good day, dear.
I don’t think I’ve ever heard this hymn before, but the lyrics are beautiful. I appreciate songs that remind me of the eternal; it is so easy to get caught up in the “here and now,” the business and the struggles of our everyday lives.Hope you’re having a great day!
Lovely pictures with the words to a lovely song. I once again sang along with your blog. 🙂

This was one of my favorite hymns growing up in Chile (in Spanish, of course!) Thanks for sharing.
I can hear George Beverly Shea singing that song in my memory from the record player. Nice sky pictures…my personal favorites in nature. I look forward to seeing Jesus come from up there somewhere…soon.
What a beautiful song! I only wish I knew the tune. But my heart sings its own tune to those words. How they ring true! Thank you for sharing and for the beautiful photo’s. Love, Lish
