I didn’t sleep well last night but even though I was tired today I went out on a rare trip to the mall.  I took Seth and Caleb with me.  I had some gymbucks to use at the gymboree kid’s clothing store and then I treated myself to a new shirt, cardigan, and a couple accessories (including the black bracelet I’m wearing in the pictures).  I like the shirt because it has pretty beading in the front.  The shirt and cardigan are not maternity but they are roomy and long enough that I think I will still get lots of use out of them during the remaining months of pregnancy, and then I can continue to wear the pieces after the baby is born.

It was really nice to get out of the house and spend time with my littlest boys.  Caleb talked to me a lot and I took him and Seth to Barnes and Nobles to play with the trains.  I enjoyed sipping a *cinnamon dolce latte* while they played and I also picked out a few things off the clearance table to give to Seth for his birthday.  He is my groundhog baby (born February 2) and one of the things I bought him was a book about Groundhog’s day (by Gail Gibbons).

Speaking of his birthday, yesterday he received his very first birthday gift ever, from my friend Christie.

These adorable shoes:

  1. Your pictures are wonderful. The shirt is very nice! Weren’t you cold? Did one of the children take the pictures? Good photographer:) I just love when I am able to do special things. Thank you for sharing with us.

  2. Going to the mall was exactly what was on my mind today!! ha [While I was trying to catch up after attending a women’s seminar last weekend]  Glad you found some cool things and the latte sounds delish! It must be the dreariness of the weather right now putting us in the mood to go to the mall!  Have a great evening!

  3. You look so great!   You would never have known you didn’t sleep well…what would we do without makeup .  Retail therapy is wonderful. LOL  I hope you’re able to get a nap or quiet time today.

  4. I didn’t sleep well either last night, but I didn’t get to go to the mall today!!  I’m working on a baby quilt for one of our missionary’s wives, so that is better than the mall for me anyway.  Besides, the 6 hour drive kind of puts a damper on shopping.  Love your new duds and the bracelet- so cute!  The latte sounds very yummy.  I’m going to settle for a warmed-up cup of this morning’s coffee, and keep quilting.

  5. oooowwwww…Robeez…my favorites. Someone gave me a hand-me-down pair for Priya, and that is the only pair of shoes I’ll put on her now. They stay on! She’s outgrowing them, and I just bought her second pair on ebay last night!

  6. You are beautiful Shanda!! Makes me wish I could have a visit with you and talk and talk. Love the clothes you picked! Seth is such a cutie pie. Almost one!! He looks like he is talking in that picture!

  7. Hannah stole my line 🙂  I did go out to breakfast with 2 girlfriends though, somthing that I will make sure I do more often.  You look wonderful. What a special day you had with your little guys. I thought I was thankful we had no more snow but, dare I admit, I am suddenly envious of the snow you have.  I can’t believe Seth is amost  a year old, it’s making me wonder when I started reading you blog…. it seems like it was way before that but maybe not….days seem to blend too easily any more.

  8. YOU LOOK SO CUTE!!!!  If it was not almost midnight I would call you so you could hear me say it!  You did a great job picking it all out, you look very fresh and cool, I love all of it!  I see your hair flipping out in the back!

  9. It feels good to treat yourself once in a while, and I think you made very sensible choices! It’s also nice to get to spend time with just the little ones. I know sometimes they kinds of get pushed aside when the bigger kids are around — at least I remember feeling that way. They need some special times with you. That’s the thing about motherhood…. finding the TIME!

  10. Shanda, you are such a pure beauty!!! I love your new outfit, I used to have a long black cardigan like that (until I finally lost it somewhere) and wore it with everything, constantly. The detail on the top is so pretty and silvery-gray looks great on you! It’s funny for comment this late, but I was lying in bed last night and thought, “Hey, I never got a chance to comment on this and Ethan’s music post!” LOL
