The umbilical cord was in the way so my doctor could not tell me anything except that if she had to guess she would say it was a girl because she saw “no boy parts”.
I have another ultrasound scheduled on January 25 so hopefully I will find out more at that time.
Doc gave Grace (who was right there with me) a high five, but said “don’t get too excited yet”.
You can imagine how I feel. You would all be right, because my emotions and thoughts about the subject are all over the place!
I hope! I hope! I hope! I hope!
The suspense continues! :)Excited for the unknown to become known.{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}
Stubborn baby! (Or as my two-year-old Joy would say, “Silly Baby!”) Jan 25 isn’t too far away – hopefully he/she will cooperate better then! At least you know it’s a healthy, growing baby, which is the most important part anyway.
I was checking back to your blog often to see if you blogged the news! Oh, darn…we have to wait :). Praying you stay well and deliver a healthy baby!
ahhhhh!! Soooooooooo exciting, praying for you Shanda. Praying for a beautiful, healthy, baby…GIRL!
I look forward to hearing the update on the 25th! I’m so excited for you!
Oh, wouldn’t a girl be exciting for your family!! Praying for a healthy baby either way. Oh how crazy excited you must be.
Oooh boy I hope she is right!!
Can’t wait to hear from the updated scan!!! Go Pink Team!
When I had my ultrasound for my girl, I didn’t see any boy parts – and I was pretty good at spotting them by then. Anyway the doc informed me that it,”Wasn’t the absence of boy parts that made her a girl, but the presence of girl parts.” 🙂 How many weeks are you?
Must be a girl – they are more modest…
I am laughing at what Colleena wrote, I can’t think of anything to say now, hers was THAT witty!Anyway I have the 25th marked and we all have that to look forward to now!
So exciting! LOL Colleena! Guess we’ll all have to wait a little longer!
Oh, thank you for giving us the update…though inconclusive…we all wait with you and Miss Grace This is a good reminder to pray for you and the baby Shanda!
Oh, those babies! They have a mind of their own, don’t they. I can’t wait to hear on the 25th.
I had the same thing happen with Lakelyn…. couldn’t really tell – don’t get too excited statement made to us… no boy parts …It’s been my experience too that with boys, they aren’t “bashful.” My girls seem to always have something “floating” in the way to see, or having their back to the ultrasound, or legs crossed. Sooo, my guess, you’ve got a GIRL! sorry, I’m going to go ahead and get excited for you… 🙂
@Sevenofus – I am 19 weeks. 🙂
This reminds me of when I had my last child…I was told they couldn’t tell for sure but didn’t see anything floating around:) Kimberly arrived soon after:)). If it helps, everyone that I know who is pregnant right now-including my daughter-in-law, my neice, and quite a few others-is having a GIRL!!! Bring on the pink!
Too funny,Colleena! We’ll have to be patient.
I’m sure it’s hard for Grace not to get her hopes up. 🙂 We’ll all be looking forward to the 25th. 😉
Oh,the suspense! 🙂
oh man….that is so unfair!…don’t worry though…time goes quickly and before you know it it will be your next appointment!!I think of you so often throughout the day:)
Well the 25th is not toooo far away… I guess..
Thats great you went today and the baby is healthy and all! They told me that with Laura and Sienna. Usually I think with girls, they are not always 100 % sure.
awww, I know you are anxious to know what it is, but Im sure it will be a special little person either way! Glad you had a good report.
Go Pink, Go Pink, Go Pink…!!!!!!!!!
Pink or blue it doesn’t matter. And, I know you are tickled pink (no pun intended) that you are healthy and so is your little one!
Maybe an ornery little girl? However it turns out, it will be God’s very best for your family ~ blessings and hugs.
A girl this time would absolutely be delightful! The excitement builds!
yay! yay! that’s so exciting! Hoping with you!
Oh, my goodness, Shanda! What a suspensful day!:) I will be watching and waiting to hear the about the next ultrasound. Wow! Hopefully the baby will be in a better position without the cord blocking next time. Either way….that baby will be loved whether it’s another strapping, handsome young man or a pretty little girl like Grace.(((hugs))) to you!
holding my breath…
Perhaps that cord wasn’t entirely umbilical, but telephonic. It’s a girl!Congratulations that you have not been able to peek inside the gift wrap yet. Anticipation is a wonderful gift, enjoy it fully.
boy or girl ~ either way, you’re blessed!
really hard not to get your hopes up…cmon 25th….
This is like a suspense novel. Another girl would be so nice for you and Grace, but then I look at your wonderful boys, and think a boy would do just fine too.
Argh!Oh well.My daughter in law recently went for an ultrasound for their #4…That had agreed to find out the sex of the child this time.Alas….the baby’s feet were crossed and the umbilical cord was hiding the…ummm…”parts”.!!!!!:(Time will tell, time will tell. Will now have to wait until the arrival date in May.Have a good day, Shanda.xo
Oh the suspense!!
Boy or Girl, he/she will be the perfect addition to your family…glad things are looking good.
keep us posted!!!
I bet Grace was excited to:) Can’t wait to hear:)
Baby is shy and modest. Thank you for the card. I love you too Shanda.
awww!! 😀 i’ll be keeing u in my prayers- I really hope it will be a girl for your and Graces’ sakes!!
I am so good at this, I should go into the baby guessing business LOL I’ve been having girl vibes for you all along, same with Janice. 😀 We’ll have to wait longer for her to find out, but hopefully you’ll get confirmation soon!! 😀
