I’ve missed blogging sooooooo much!

Dear friends,

I’m very excited to be sitting here typing again!  Rich and I set the computer up last night and all during this extremely busy day I’ve been looking forward to putting up my first post after an absence of two months!

How can it be that next Wednesday begins another school year and that this is our last week of summer vacation?  I just sat and looked through all the photographs that I took in the past few months, and as I did, a smile appeared on my face.  Yes, it’s been a lovely summer.  Nothing very amazing, just a nice, family summer with many sweet memories made and many just plain ordinary busy days of managing my home. (ups and downs and all)

I thought taking away TV and computer would give me a feeling of “more time”….but now I can say that we quickly adjusted to a new schedule and very soon I was wondering where that “more time” went!

I will be working on putting up a post very soon of my favorite pictures and stories from the summer.  In the meantime, here are a few photos that I took today.

As you can see, we now have chickens! (13 of them!)

  4. you’ve missed us?  we’ve missed YOU!!!!!  i read about a dozen blogs and have come to realize yours is my favorite!  i love your honesty, simple pleasures, photos, words of faith, and that beatiful background music.
so glad to have you back and can’t wait to hear about your summer.  it has gone by, hasn’t it?  i thought i would have all sorts of free time, but as it turns out, not so much.  at least i know i’m not alone!  now i’m busy planning our upcoming homeschool year as well.  wouldn’t have it any other way, though, don’t you agree?

  5. I was wondering who that little boy was, before I realized it was Caleb!  He looks so much bigger.  And Grace is really turning into a beautiful young lady.  Such a precious family.  You are blessed beyond words.  So glad to have you back!

  6. and we all have missed you sooooooooooo much! Your babies sure have grown in the blogging absence…..I am so glad to see you and your family back. Nice Chickens….caleb just looks so much older with longer hair….David always has such a joyful curiousness about him…Grace is as beautiful as ever…Ethan is looking taller….Jacob is DEFINITELY looking taller…and I am still short…that’s life…

  7. Good to “see” you back!  Love the profile picture – just how I imagine you.  Sweetie Pooh killed a toad today; he didn’t acount for the sun’s movement when he checked the habitat.  It got hot an hour later … *sigh* There was much sobbing.  You know how that goes.
    Are the chickens much trouble?
Don’t dread studies too much, dear.  Hope you all find joy in your learning adventures together.  Or, perhaps “the year of the baby” can spread out alittle longer! : P
Sorry I haven’t written; I was sick all last week, and this week we are super busy.  I’ll get something in the mail soon.
    Loves!

  8. I was just thinking about you today and when I went on Xanga tonight, there was a post from you!  Welcome back.  I too, cannot believe how grownup Caleb looks.  All the children are adorable of course, but I see the biggest difference in him.  Glad to hear you had a wonderful summer.  Blessings.

  9. Yay! You’re back! I didn’t think you were coming back till September so I was very much pleasantly surprised to see this! Oh how I’ve missed your posts! I’ve thought about writing you recently to tell you that we lost the baby last week that I wrote to you about in June. This of course has been very hard. But now my husband is open to trying for another, when previously he did not want any more kids (before the surprise pregnancy). I’ll keep you updated on what happens. So glad you’re back!

  10. I missed your post so much, Shanda.  I’m proud of you for the “SUMMER UNPLUG” of the computer and TV.  You and your children are beautiful…they’ve all grown so much!!!  Blessings to you my friend and WELCOME BACK!!  You were greatly missed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  11. Welcome back! I started making those bean bags you blogged about last spring, but was wondering what else you could use besides corn feed as I’m not sure where I’d even find that at? I’ve got my bags all sewn and ready to be filled, it’s just a matter of with what! Thank you :]

  12. Shanda, when I saw that you had posted on my blog, I literally gasped, and said, “SHANDA’S BACK!” I have so missed reading your blog! I would periodically check here to see if you had posted anything, and then sadly click away. :o) So, happy to see your children’s smiles and yours as well. Welcome Back!!

  13. YAY you are back!!!I just took 15 minutes and read all the posts on this page. It’s so wonderful to SEE your family again and read about your summer.Itoo was away from Xanga this summer.
