just a few of my job titles . . . . .

DSC_2384

Hello dear friends!  It’s been a beautiful spring week and I am so busy!  It seems that the weather has given me an abundance of super-energy and I’ve been having fun here at home almost non-stop.  I’ve made bread and pancakes along with the regular meals (I’m a special-order chef!), removed a sliver from the bottom of Caleb’s foot (I’m a nurse!), trimmed some briars back outside by the pond (I’m a gardener!), walked around with the baby outdoors (I’m a stroller!), cleaned (a maid!), taught David how to do headstands (a gym teacher!), turned a few cartwheels for the first time in over a year (a gymnast!), read books (a librarian!), nursed a newborn (a cow! *just kidding*) listened to stories and music (an audience!), taught school (a school teacher!), took pictures of the family around a bonfire (a photographer!) …..and the week is only half over.

The picture is from Saturday morning.  I was walking through the livingroom when the sight of all six of our children caught my eye…so I grabbed the camera to capture the moment.

To be honest, I don’t know what to blog about these days.  Can anyone inspire me with something?  It’s time to shake things up. LOL

  1. I like the idea of a Favorites list! And, of course, just keeping us up to date on the happenings at your house and how you’re feeling! With lots of gorgeous pictures, of course! Love, GAil

  2. Shanda,I love a baby Seth is just laying (sitting?) there..just relaxed and looking around ;)That is a lot of names you go with! Have fun!Janice( & I love to read how YOU are feeling and how God is working in your lives )

  3. Love your posts as they are.  Your daily life is so varied that your photos tell a wonderful story — it’s wonderful to see your family growing so nicely!  And I’m delighted that you’re feeling so much better, too!

  4. Love the picture of all of them living life…that swing is fantastic…little Seth can keep an eye on things. When I think of the old ones that had their feet hanging (they would get cold, and you had to prop them up)that swing is just so neat. Love hearing what you have been up to. A peek into your life as a family is always a joy, as well as what you are thinking. Blessings to you dear mama- aka chef, nurse, gardener, stroller, maid, gym teacher, gymnast, *ahem* cow LOL, audience, teacher, and photographer! Been a few of those this week as well Jenny

  5. I totally agree with what others commented! =) I just love reading about what you write about your life and stuff like that. Just keep it up! We all enjoy reading about you and your family. =)

  6. You are an amazing woman! Look at you. I love just hearing about your family and seeing you in your day to day life. 🙂 It leaves me smiling, laughing, encouraged, filled with compassion, hopeful, etc. I’m so glad you are feeling better. 🙂

  7. Yes, I did stop by earlier (after I wrote on my blog), but I didn’t take the time to comment.  I love the picture of all your young ones.
My peonies are just starting to poke through the soil with their little red caps – I took a picture of them also but I just didn’t post it.
We’ll have to have one of our Sunday chats this weekend – I have a lot to talk with you about…Love You!

  8. There is nothing I’d rather read about than your everyday home life with 6 kiddos! Hey, Seth “shook things up,” right? In a good way! Babies are always growing and changing, and I love reading about their latest developments, such as your post of Seth trying to put his fist in his mouth a couple of weeks ago. SO ADORABLE! Your blog is perfect, just as it is. Don’t change a thing!P.S. I LOVE this “everyday” picture of your kids just hanging out together!!! ❤ ❤ ❤

  9. Seth looks so tiny in this picture, I just want to reach in and pick him up!
I agree with everyone else you have a good thing going, if you “shook it up?” we would all be dissapointed, life is exciting enough without adding anything to it!
I am home now but just long enough to do laundry and re pack! Just got in the door and had to see what you were up to.

  11. I don’t think there is anything wrong with your posts, the ones you think maybe aren’t so interesting! Just getting a peek at your life from day to day makes me feel closer to you – and I like that feeling, just fine!

  12. I so enjoy reading your posts.  Blogging is a lot of fun, I’ve met so many wonderful Christian wives and mothers who are so real and genuine.
I loved your job title list–I’ve never really thought about it that way.  We are called to a special calling nurturing our “little ones”.
Glad to hear you’re feeling energized.

  13. And you do them all so well!  I don’t know what to post about these days.  I want to encourage people, I want to share about myself, but I’m stumped . . . have you been doing any word studies lately.  I miss hearing about what the Lord has showed you in His word. . .your blog is my favorite on here!

  14. I totally missed the baby when I counted your kids the first time!! My brain must be fried!! I so enjoy the day to day stuff you post, it is encouraging. Plus I feel like I know you and your family even though we have never met!!So glad to hear that you are feeling well and full of energy! Keep having fun and keep sharing your fun with us!!

  15. Your picture is not opening on my site…don’t know why! Yes the many jobs of being a mother… you are doing a fantastic job! Have a great rest of the week~sissy
Ps I clicked on it and it opened up…

  16. *I’m a cow* oh Shanda, that made me laugh out loud!! I’m having blogger blockage too….I just don’t know what to say anymore. But I will say, I enjoy every post you give us..even if it’s a little one..I love them all!

  17. Oh I love your baby in a bowl! You don’t need any ideas for your blog. You’re doing great! I don’t know of any other blog that has a cute baby in a bowl, or squirming tadpoles in tiny hands. I love coming to your blog because it truly feels like I’m coming over to your house. You don’t blog about just one thing. I like your variety of decorating, cooking, mommying, and just day to day stuff. If you get blog burn out, don’t worry. We’ll just wait for a few days with our coffees, tapping our fingers. :o) Take Care, Shanda!
