Hast thou not known?
Hast thou not heard,
that the everlasting God,
the Lord,
the Creator of the ends of the earth,
fainteth not, neither is weary?
There is no searching of His understanding.

He giveth power to the faint;
and to them that have no might
He increaseth strength.

Even the youths shall faint and be weary,
the young men shall utterly fall:
But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength;
they shall mount up with wings as eagles;
they shall run, and not be weary;
and they shall walk, and not faint.

(Isaiah 40:28-31)

The grass withereth,
the flower fadeth:
But the word of our God shall stand forever.

He shall feed his flock like a shepherd:
he shall gather the lambs with his arm,
and carry them in his bosom,
and shall gently lead those that are with young.
(Isaiah 40:11)

  1. “He shall gather the lambs w/ His arms…” beautiful and comforting passage ~ when I read it its like being held by Jesus.I’ve not had a chance to comment – but have been reading the posts and enjoying the fall walks and pictures and food too~! Congrats on reaching 5 months! to me that’s always a very good feeling to get to that point – :)blessings to you!lys

  2. isn’t that such a comforting thought of Jesus holding us like lambs, and caring for us.  Last night helping my youngest with his Bible Memory of Psalm 23, he was asking questions about what different things meant, one illustration was  “Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me” like a shepherd’s rod and staff protecting the sheep and bringing comfort to them….

  3. Your pictures of the leaves changing are beautiful.  Our leaves aren’t changing quite yet, but we have so many pine trees down here in Georgia that it’s still not very pretty.  Everything is either green or brown.

  4. I love Isaiah…such a wonderful passage.  I love the pictures of the leaves, it makes me sad that I probably won’t get out of the house now for a few days to take more pictures 😦  I hope all the leaves aren’t on the ground by then.

  5. Beautiful verses, today.I was bragging (at a funeral, of ALL places!) this morning about the beautiful fall foliage pictures you have been posting. Yours surpass anything I’ve seen “for real” around here.

  6. It’s amazing to me just how beautiful are the words of Scripture. The passage here is just like poetry, but the beauty goes so far past the loveliness of the English itself to the content of the words, and how they are LIVING TRUTH. I love reading it and looking at these pictures of God’s creation.

  7. one of my all time favorite passages of scripture – like BALM to the heart!!! the leaf pictures i love… i think leaves are some of the prettiest things in the world~ i have my kitchen decorated in them (unofficially) :).happy thursday to you shanda friend!
