“My friend, if you think of your Christian

life in any shape or form with a

sense of grudge, or as a wearisome task or duty,

I tell you to go back to the beginning of your life,

retrace your steps to the wicket gate through which you passed.

Look at the world in its evil and sin,

look at the hell in which it was leading you,

and then look forward and realize that you are set

in the midst of the most glorious campaign

into which a man could ever enter,

and that you are on the most noblest road

that the world has ever known.”

~D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones

I came across the quote this morning (as I sat on the bathroom floor, reading, while Caleb had a bath) and it was like a breath of fresh air to me!  I hope that you are blessed by it as well.  I was saved when I was 6 years old, and I would love to read your testimony, it’s so encouraging to read how God works in lives. . . . . .

Today is Saturday, and like I mentioned last week, my goal for Saturday is to PREPARE the house and family for a God-glorifying Sunday.  Some of you said you would pray for me in this endeavor and I do covet those prayers today!  Thank you friends!

Much love, Shanda

  1. That’s an amazing quote, I’m glad you posted it here.  I was also saved very young, but I went through a really “backslidden” time in my life, and it’s so awesome for me to realize that God brought me back through that, forgave me so easily, and welcomed me back into His arms with no questions.  I love that.  I hope you have a great (and industrious) day today.

  2. Thank you for sharing that quote, and good luck with getting everthing ready for a day of rest tomorrow! I am  sure that you will get everything achomplished that you need to (and you have so many good little helpers)

  3. Good Morning, friend! I am praying for you, just take it one step at a time. We are home from camping. Today is Cole’s 2nd birthday, so we are just loving on him and marveling at how God has given him to us. I read your other posts, oh my a flat tire!! I am happy that it did not happen on the highway. I hope you have a wonderful Saturday and I know you will have a great day tomorrow! Love ya. -Tara

  4. Inspirational…may God bless you as you seek to honor Him. Preparation physically and spiritually on Friday for the Sabbath always is a blessing to me! I had such a blessed and peaceful day today. – Colleen –

  5. I do not know for sure of the date of my conversion; I do remembering asking Jesus to come into my heart…over and over again. When my father explained how Christ had come to stay, I then stopped praying that way. Spiritual growth did not really take place until I was about 14. I wish I could drive a stake on the day I was saved…but it matters not…I know that I am. Besides…”I’d rather have Jesus than anything this world affords today.” Praying for your preparations and for your worship tomorrow.

  6. I like that quote — God bless you as you prepare for the Lord’s Day.  I was saved at age 18 (I was dating a Christian guy in high school and his mother led me to the Lord) and have been walking with the Lord since — it’s been a struggle at times because none of my family is saved (all of my husband’s is, praise the Lord!) and my family just “doesn’t want to hear about it!”  I just have to “walk the walk” and be a testimony to them.

  7. I love the quote Shanda, and I’m also working on getting the house sorted out so I can make tomorrow a more restful day. Hope you get everything you need accomplished!

  8. The quote is beautiful just like the picture. I LOVE naked trees against a beautiful blue sky. I was saved later on in life at age 27, I don’t have time at the moment to share my testimony but I would LOVE to share it sometime. Hope you and your family have a blessed Lords day.

  9. I can remember growing up and asking god to save me  and when  i got into my 20’s i rededicated my life to him and got baptize in the river here when we live what a wonderful blessing it has been to serve him all these years
                                             GOD BLESS,

  10. I love that quote and will probably give it out to our youth tomorrow when I teach.  We are reading the parables of the lost sheep, lost coin, and prodigal son and talking about how God wants our hearts.  It is so good when our children come to the Lord young…. some of the teens seem to  become ho hum about their faith.  We are always trying to share our passion for the Lord and His love for all of us! My husband was speaking the other night about how good life is when in the Lord ….the abundant life!  He is around a lot of highschool kids on his commutes and is astounded the things they talk about …..he tries to witness to them.
Though raised and taught about the Lord as a child,  I feel it was when I was 18 that I really gave my life to the Lord.  Then I began personal Bible study and grew in my faith and understanding. I finally realized it was not me “trying” to be good…but the Lord working inside
Praying your day went well today and tomorrow is a blessed day of praise and rest. Jenny

  11. I love stopping in here because it just seems so peaceful with the music and all. I love that thought too. Praise God for the work He has done in our lives!!! I asked Jesus in my heart at 4 years old but it took me until age 18 to really mean it and live it. I daily do have to die to self and pick up my cross and follow Him…it is a long and hard journey but I serve a true and living God who is faithful and who is my Savior! πŸ™‚ I look forward to the day we can see Him face to face…

  12. Loyyd Jones is so so good, I loved reading what he wrote on Proverbs.  I can see why you liked this quote.  I didn’t mention in my last comment about your pictures, I loved the one with Rich reading, and the bare feet, also the flour on Caleb and the cat in the high chair…I could see this published!
