“As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.” John 15:4
Cowardly, wayward, and weak,
I change with the changing sky,
Today so eager and strong,
Tomorrow not caring to try.
But He never gives in,
And we two shall win,
Jesus and I.
-Corrie Ten Boom

That was the same passage that my Mothers group talked on today… and it touched me greatly. What a blessing to see it on your site! ABIDE…
oh…. what a beautiful picture!
Funny, I was just reading in John 15 today and thinking about the grapevines near our old neighborhood (in CA)… And that quote – how marvelous! Thanks for the nice comment. I’m sorry you’ve been sick – I do hope you are feeling much better.
ME TOO – I have been picking muscadine grapes here on the farm and thinking on that same Scripture. I was thinking about posting some of my grapevine pictures. This flower is beautiful – I love the soft light coming through the petals!
Oh, I love the quote! I need that right now!
Absolutely breathtaking.
ps) your puppy is getting SO BIG.
I had not heard that Corrie Ten Boom quote before. Very thought provoking and so applicable to my life. Lovely flower!
Oh Shanda, just what I needed. I had such a bad, self-loathing day. I needed a good kick in the pants, thanks.
So where I am today. I go to bed with high hopes for the next day, and then the next day is worse than the one before. My own slothliness is encroaching on me, and I really need Jesus’ help if I’m going to make it tomorrow.
Oh that we may constantly abide….it is truly the secret to good fruit in our lives and in the lives of those we love…for their sakes I sanctify myself…
Beautiful and so true! I think without God in my life I would be Jello! I would just be all wobbly and ineffective for anything. RYC: I did read Pilgrim’s Progress years ago. What’s hard for me with the place we live is that there are no longer great bookstores where I can browse and find everything in English, and ordering things from the internet is more expensive than our budget allows. I look forward to the times we get to America and try to stock up on enough books then to last me a couple of years!
Just what my eyes and heart needed this day! You bless me so much! Thanks and love, M
…Oh, so lovely a post, Shanda…
Couldn’t stay away from yours and Jo’s place while visiting son Z in San Antonio…
Good weekend to you!
my breath caught for a moment as I saw this photograph~ exquisite
Your picture and quotes match perfectly. Hope you continue to feel better.
RYC: You’re SOOOOO right! I’ll get them in the mail!
Beautiful photo and beautiful quote. Oh, it’s only Jesus who never changes and gets us through our days.
Beautiful Shan!
Amen!
What a beautiful truth! Thank you for sharing… and for the gorgeous photo as well!
