I made my russian tea cakes on Saturday morning and by the time Saturday was over I
smelled like cookies,
felt like a cookie, and
was filled with cookie.
Cathi had a cookie exchange at her house. She had her table all nicely decorated and when we arrived we put our plate of cookies on the table with the recipe. After the majority of us were there, we started sampling them all: no-bake cookies, sugar cookies, butter meltaways, butterscotch, candy-cane, spritz, chocolate kisses, cranberry white chocolate. . . .etc. . . . .
There were festive blank recipe cards and pens so that we could copy down our favorites.
It was fun to sit and talk and munch.
Amy, Mary (our candidate Pastor’s wife!), and Karen
My sister Amanda and our hostess Cathi
Bridgette
Me (working on my last cookie) and Jenny-poo
Courtney and Kathy
We each left with our plate filled with a variety of yummy Christmas treats.
I don’t know about everyone else. But, mine are gone. ![]()

Sounds like (and looks like!) a wonderful time. The cookies look great too! The cookies I brought home from our swap didn’t last long either! 😉 I’m glad to share the bread recipe!
I had such a good time on Saturday. We really do need to get together more often again. I really miss that. Thanks for putting on the pictures. The cookies look so pretty. 🙂 I had so many leftover at my house I brought to church on Sunday night for the fellowship.
What a nice idea. 🙂
I will have to keep this in mind for next year or maybe it would be good to do between Christmas and New Year’s. Thanks for the idea.
Looks like so much fun! Mary hasn’t changed a bit in the past dozen years; I was amazed.
I’ll have an oatmeal cranberry please
I just got back from a Christmas luncheon ~ now how can these pics make me hungry!??
Loks like you guys had a groovy time. 🙂
Yours look so good, I would also grab some of those oatmeal ones! MMMMMMM MMMMMMMM!
Your cookie exchange looked SO fun!! I hope you and your family have a blessed Christmas!! ~Myra
That post made me gain 5 lbs! Do the ladies in your church only wear skirts, or was it just a coincidence?
Gosh, those cookies look good! I’m sure they taste even better. Mmmm……
What a lovely party!
YUMMY….They look so delicious. We just did a cookie exchange with the ladies in our church last week, My plate didn’t last long either
No more cookies for me please! I have overloaded myself in the past few days……my poor little Jonathan is going to come out on a sugar high!! :}
But yes it was a fun time……we need to do that more often and get more of the older ladies involved too! Thanks for posting the picts.
Oh it looks like so much fun, wish I could have joined you! =)
Looks like a wonderful time!! The pictures look scrumptious. Hope you’re have a fabulous week.
What fun!! 🙂 I baked the russian sugar cookies too a little over a week ago and froze some for Christmas Day with my family. I love Christmas baking!! 🙂
i wish i’d been there!!
NOT FAIR, your web site made me hungry for…………COOKIES!!!!
Wow, this IS a small world, yes that is the same church! My cousins went to school there. Did you ever know them? I think you are probably a bit younger then they are, but they are very active in the church there. That is so cool! I have such good memories of Norwich growing up, the kind of small town that is at the heart of American culture. My family still lives in that area, New Berlin, and South New Berlin. Do you live in New York state still?
Not fair! Not fair to post all those yummy pictures and for me to view them at my desk at work! AAGGHHH! Purple, you take great pictures, by the way.
Ahhhhhh . . . I would like to order at least a dozen of each, please. All the cookies look awesome! Russian teacakes are one of my favorite Christmas cookies. We did a cookies swap at church today and I had counted on at least one person making them and NO ONE DID!!! I am so very sad.
You are an incredible photographer. I always love looking at the pics of your kids & scenery around you. Now you even know how to make me drool just looking at your pics of cookies. Amazing!
