Cookie Exchange. . . .a delightful afternoon

I made my russian tea cakes on Saturday morning and by the time Saturday was over I

smelled like cookies,

felt like a cookie, and

was filled with cookie.

Cathi had a cookie exchange at her house.  She had her table all nicely decorated and when we arrived we put our plate of cookies on the table with the recipe.  After the majority of us were there, we started sampling them all:  no-bake cookies, sugar cookies, butter meltaways, butterscotch, candy-cane, spritz, chocolate kisses, cranberry white chocolate. . . .etc. . . . .

There were festive blank recipe cards and pens so that we could copy down our favorites.

It was fun to sit and talk and munch.

We each left with our plate filled with a variety of yummy Christmas treats.

I don’t know about everyone else.  But, mine are gone.

  1. Sounds like (and looks like!) a wonderful time. The cookies look great too! The cookies I brought home from our swap didn’t last long either! 😉 I’m glad to share the bread recipe!

  2. I had such a good time on Saturday. We really do need to get together more often again. I really miss that. Thanks for putting on the pictures. The cookies look so pretty. 🙂 I had so many leftover at my house I brought to church on Sunday night for the fellowship.

  3. No more cookies for me please! I have overloaded myself in the past few days……my poor little Jonathan is going to come out on a sugar high!! :}
    But yes it was a fun time……we need to do that more often and get more of the older ladies involved too! Thanks for posting the picts.

  4. Wow, this IS a small world, yes that is the same church!  My cousins went to school there.  Did you ever know them?  I think you are probably a bit younger then they are, but they are very active in the church there.  That is so cool!  I have such good memories of Norwich growing up, the kind of small town that is at the heart of American culture.  My family still lives in that area, New Berlin, and South New Berlin.  Do you live in New York state still?

  5. Ahhhhhh . . . I would like to order at least a dozen of each, please.  All the cookies look awesome!  Russian teacakes are one of my favorite Christmas cookies.  We did a cookies swap at church today and I had counted on at least one person making them and NO ONE DID!!!  I am so very sad.
    You are an incredible photographer.  I always love looking at the pics of your kids & scenery around you.  Now you even know how to make me drool just looking at your pics of cookies.  Amazing!
