Walk with Friends

Making Memories. . . . .

Kathy and Karen came over yesterday and we went for a walk.  Between the 3 of us, we had 10 beautiful children along.  It was a wonderful day full of sunshine, bright fall color, the laughter of children, and the fellowship of friends.

” To have a friend is to have one of the sweetest gifts that life can bring:  to be a friend is to have a solemn and tender education of soul from day to day” Chinese proverb

“A friend is someone who sees through you and still enjoys the view”  Wilma Askinas

Kathy’s daughter, Emily, was born premature weighing in at just a little over a pound.   So many were praying for her and today she is a healthy almost-3-year-old.

When I look at this picture of Caleb and me, I am filled with gratitude to God for these years in which I have a baby in my arms.  I’m thankful to Him for allowing me to be a Mother.

Karen told us that her mother used to make her hot chocolate on winter days after school, and read aloud from Heidi.  She said that she was only 6 years old, but she will always remember.

Friends.  American flag.  Bare feet.  Little boys.  Hold my hand.  That was fun, wasn’t it?

Thank you, God
for friends
and for beautiful days

  1. aaaaawwwww what a beautiful post. I LOVE all of your pictures and the warmth of friendship flowed through them Thanks for sharing my friend and thank you for your prayers. Have a wonderful weekend with your family.

  2. Sis, you always take such great pictures. When I see them I can smell fall in the air and hear the leaves and the kids. I always love the “movement” in your pictures, its always so natural and un-staged. I have the weekend to myself so I hope to get out and find some nice trees to photograph. I miss you and the family!!!

  3. I just read this post and the one before it. You are such an incredible photographer! I love the beautiful fall foliage where you live!

  4. Good morning!  πŸ™‚  Thanks for commenting.  I don’t ever think anything of fellow xangans stopping by.  It was just that whoever that is isn’t on xanga and literally was checking my site every hour, on the hour.  Kinda freaks me out.  πŸ™‚  I agree with you, though.  In today’s world, where women don’t share our days work like they used to a hundred years ago, it’s so wonderful to be able to encourage eachother and form friendships through blogging.  πŸ™‚  It’s brought a lot of joy to my life.
I love your pictures.  Beautiful scenery, children and friends!  πŸ™‚   Hope you have a BLESSED weekend!

  5. Beautiful!! That is so special that you got to spend time with your friends enjoying God’s beautiful gift to us of the land and scenery
