{this moment} – A Friday ritual. A single photo – capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember.

after a conference with Caleb’s teacher last night, the boys begged me to take them to mcdonald’s.
as a special treat, we even WENT IN, (instead of going around the drive thru).
it was just the three of us. instead of eating, i just sat and enjoyed watching my two youngest boys.
they were so cute sitting at their little table together, my heart melted….i was glad i said yes even though i was tired and cold and just wanted to go home.
wishing i could freeze time……..
but so very glad to spend this sweet moment with them.
happy friday, friends!
I love it! I’m checking out the floors and walls, I’m thinking your McDonald’s has been around awhile. They just demolished and rebuilt the oldest McD’s in our town and it’s all new and modern inside.
@aSeriesofFortunateEvents – oh yes, this is one of the older buildings for sure. there’s a nice modern one the next town over and it’s lovely. have a good weekend! π
@purpleamethyst76 – You do the same! We have 4, yes, 4 McDonald’s in our town alone. What’s up with that? lol OH and none of them have a play place.
@aSeriesofFortunateEvents – FOUR oh my word. ours has an outdoor play area and even though it was like 28 degrees and pitch dark Caleb kept saying he was going to play on it. I was doing such a great job saying yes about even stopping that I felt bad telling him no five times about the playscape! LOL
@purpleamethyst76 – I blame it on the town trying to be snooty, the no playplace thing. I have to say it doesn’t hurt my feelings but the kids really like them ha! We actually don’t eat out much so they’re not missing out too badly.
I feel like I’m jumping into a conversation in the comment section here! Haha.Very cute picture.I’m a bad mom….our kids have never played there before! =/We do other things though..that’s how I justify it. π
Going inside to eat IS a treat! We’ve decided to take eating out off our budget for now – but our children, too, would long to go inside π
Such a wonderful moment of the two boys. You are such a great mom Shanda!
This is soooo sweet. Those boys look like they are having the time of their lives! Can I tell you a secret?~~I dislike going in too. My children want to play on the playground and all I can think of is how sick we will be for 8 weeks:). The last time we went some parents allowed the baby to go up in the play equipment and he dropped his diaper up in it, it wasn’t just urine. The parents laughed, gathered up the child and left. Anyway….. this was encouragement for me to read. Thank you for thinking of the “simple” things to encourage us all. Maybe I’ll have them take a bunch of Lysol wipes and let ’em play:)
that is a melted mom heart moment for sure.. nothing like seeing your kids being friends and enjoying each other’s company!i’m one of the rare people that actually LIKES mcdonald’s food. even seeing this pic is making me crave it. ha! ;))
Yeah… but time in a bottle…. wouldn’t that be nice? I miss my girls being little sometimes, but the upside is I have such delicious grandchildren! My little tootsie in N Ireland would not go to bed last night until she talked to Grandma! I loved that phone call!
@Hutch5 – I love the food but hate the calories! LOL @DanishDoll – You really do have very adorable grandchildren! It’s so great that they are just a phone call away!@sixAs – Just think of it as “building up their immunity”
@Hutch5 – ha. that is rare. and i’m one of ’em too. π
sweet picture…and great words.
I am hungry looking at the boys savoring those! LOLYes, anything that kids does it is the one thing makes a mother`s heart melt with so much joy and love!
