journal cover

I wanted to decoupage this weekend. so after I went to the craft store with Grace, I came home and decided to begin by making a pretty cover for my plain green journal/daybook.

I’m happy with how it turned out.  I looked through three magazines and chose the pictures that I liked the best.  I glued them all onto the journal and after it dried, I put two more coats of glue on, to seal it.

This journal is almost full and I’ve very much enjoyed writing in it.

Journaling Ideas:  Recipes, quotes, verses, book lists, menu ideas, thankful lists, weather reports, pictures from the children, pictures from magazines, diary entries of what I did that day, favorite songs, prayers, cards that friends sent me, inspiring people, interesting clips from newspapers or magazines, house decorating tips, thoughts, reminders, and goals.

“It is good for our hearts to be strengthened by grace.” Hebrews 13:9

  1. Beautiful and such good ideas!! I started a new journal today and wasnt sure about what to write on the first page. Then I was struggling with something and cried out to God and picked two random verses…the verses were spot on !! So they now grace the first page of my journal.

  2. I love your journal idea! I wish I was disciplined enough to do something like that. I had to scroll down and try to catch up a little on the doings at your place. I have been away for quite a while, and I sure missed everyone!

  3. I love this idea for a journal. Somehow I always thought of a ‘journal’ as writing long pages about your days etc. However you just inspired me that this is not so – there are no rules for journaling. Now I want to make one Allowing it to be an ‘open book’ will get me to let go of my OCD rules of wanting it to be a certain way. This will be great for keeping record of everything from things the girls say, recipes, books I want to read, things that are on my mind etc. AND thanks to your great idea I can make it look cute and personalized. Love your posts, your creativity, and most of all … your wonderful heart for the Lord! Have a blessed day ~ Ashley
