The weekend began with muffins.

Or, maybe it began with a bad dream.  I had dreamed that night, that Rich was gone.  I can’t write details about it, but when I woke up (and realized he was still alive) I had a renewed love and appreciation for my husband, the one who completes me, my lover and friend.

I got up on Saturday morning and left him sleeping in our big, warm bed.

And then I made muffins.  Because he likes them, and I wanted to spoil him just a little.

One by one the children woke up and ate their muffins in the kitchen, but Rich got his in bed.

We spent a lot of time outside this weekend.

Sarah enjoys the slide, but decided to stay at the top this time;

The boys jumped on the trampoline and their hair stood up from the static~

The chickens were happy to be out and about…..

(Yes, George the Rooster is still with us.  Unfortunately.)

The ground was so cold but several of the children still went barefoot.

The weather on Saturday was amazing.  It reached at least 60 here.  I had one more chance to plant my fall bulbs, and with the help of the children they got planted.   Hurray!

Grace and I went for a little walk.

We watched a movie after church yesterday (Narnia).  The boys were cozied up together on the couch.

And last night, Rich and I went to dinner at a friend’s house, before we left I took this picture (with my phone) of Rich giving the children instructions for while we were gone.  Love them, all!

Lastly, I have a little video to share of Sarah and Seth.  I guess, maybe, Rich was going a little too fast on the way to church yesterday morning?  For whatever reason, they started saying “weeee”  and it was so cute I took a short video of them.

They are at such a fun age!

Have a great day, friends!  Say a prayer for me today, if you will, I’m feeling a little shaky.

Thank you~

Love,

Shanda

  1. Oh, that’s so weird!  I had a dream two nights ago that my dear husband cheated on me!!!!!!!!  I woke up devastated and angry!  Once I was finally able to collect the pieces of my heart and check my reality (the dream was SO real!)…I just wondered if it was from God reminding me not to take my husband for granted.  A little piece of me is thankful for the dream.  I’ll keep you in my prayers today..cold and gloomy here in PA.

  2. I have problems with static hair too and I don’t even jump on a trampoline!!! Looks like a fun weekend at your house — praying the days is going well for you — it’s sunny here and that helps.

  3. You should definitely lock Grace up in a highest tower somewhere! We tease our girls about that a lot. I’m sure they’d make some room for her. We had muffins this weekend too, but I bought them. I always mean to make them, I just don’t get there.

  4. You look soo pretty in that shade of green!! I too enjoy your pictures of nature – brings peace and serenity. You have a unique ability to enjoy the simple things in life 🙂

  5. At Your request I said a prayer for U and Rich and all the Children, I am blessed with the togetherness of the day to day journey of the Family. Such joy lies ahead of you-all as the children quickly turn into young adults get married and you have grandchildren. The closeness & love that has been lived in every day life will stay with and U and the children until Jesus Comes. I envy U

  6. It must feel so good to have those bulbs planted! It did get so warm here as well, it hardly feels like winter!  Love all the green in this post, such a great color! You look so pretty in that jacket! Rich looks SO different with a beard!  That photo your brother mailed is like a time capsule! Your write it does capture all the emotion so prefectly!

  7. Loved every single one of the photos, but especially the greens in the pinecone pics and in the pictures of you, and the ice photos were amazing as well. Love to you!

  8. Somehow I missed this post. It was great! You look darling in that pretty green jacket, so you. I pray for you and think of you often. So enjoy the warmth and love of you, the family, and nature that you share. A blessing!
