caleb’s getting older

 DSC_0541

A little 6 year old someone lost a little something ……

and suddenly, he’s older.

Losing your first tooth is a milestone of childhood.

After that, something amazing happens; an adult tooth will grow up into the empty spot.

Not only is he losing teeth, he’s also reading tremendously well.   He only misses a word now and then.

Like yesterday, when he mentioned at breakfast that we were drinking milk, made from ….”wool”.

  1. I love those little smiles with missing teeth!I so enjoyed catching up on all your beautiful posts Shanda! Winter is looking so lovely were you are. The pictures of Christmas festivities were a delight to see… your living room looked a lot like ours after presents were opened… covered with lego packets Love seeing you and Rich together too! Once again your wonderful posts have put a smile on my face. Have a wonderful new year my friend!

  2. According to my Jake he is, “THE VERY LAST SIX YEAR OLD IN THE WORLD TO LOSE A TOOTH!!” And he’s sooooo pathetically dramatic and whiny like his mommy!!! :DJake was soooo wanting a visit from the tooth fairy over the Christmas holiday. He can’t bare to go back to school with out at least one gap in his big ol’ grin. :)Congrats to Caleb!!! Hope the toothfairy does him good!Btw-I love that you have “wool” milk. 😉

  3. Thanks for the kind comments on my blog the other day!
My 4 yr old son, yes 4!!, lost his first tooth the other day too. I was NOT ready for that! makes them seem suddenly older doesn’t it?
I wanted to leave a bk recommendation for your family if you like The Little House bks. We read Happy Little Family by Rebecca Caudill almost every winter. It’s just charming.
    Happy New Year!
