pictures before church

Today:

We would have been on time to Sunday School if I hadn’t taken these pictures.  (oops)

Sarah wore a beautiful Christmas dress sent to me from my dear friend Bridgette.

Jacob joined the orchestra at church for the first time; he plays the violin.  He said he was so nervous he was shaking and it was crazy.

I was paged two times to go to the nursery to console dear baby.  She’s darling cute even when she’s all upset.

We ate fast food on the way home.

Rich and I went out this afternoon to get some groceries and he carefully picked out new coloring books for Davy, Caleb, and Sethie.

He also picked out food for a party; hot chocolate and chocolate covered donuts.

We played PIT with the older children and it was so much fun.

I lit a green pine candle, it has three wicks and smells wonderful, like Christmas.

Grace practiced the piano; she has a recital on Saturday.

I’m thinking of my friend Lea Ann, it’s her birthday today.

We don’t have our tree yet, do you?

  1. Oh my goodness, I didn’t know there was anyone else who knew how to play Pit other than my family!! Isn’t it a crazy fun game?! Your pictures are beautiful!

  2. What beautiful pictures! All of you are very photogenic, and you are a great photographer. Yes, we got our tree up and decorated the weekend of Thanksgiving. It’s standing right next to the fireplace and looks so cozy with the lights lit every evening.

  3. When I first read the title “Pictures BEFORE church”…I thought, wow, she’s way too together! We’re usually flying out the door with toast in our hands! Lol.Your pictures are beautiful, and worth the extra couple of minutes that made you late!  Yes, our tree is up. We put it up the day after Thanksgiving…always! However, this year we took a couple of days to decorate since Jeff had a busy work week. Have a great evening. =)

  4. I looked at each face and smiled and smiled. You and Rich look beautiful and handsome, and doll baby cracked me up with that sweet little face. Each of the children look so nice in their church clothes, and in front of the glowing fire! I enjoyed this picture the most as I see all the personalities. The older boys are getting so big…how DO you feed them?! (all the time, I am sure) I like how Caleb has folded hands and such an intent look, trying to be proper. Davy has folded hands too, but looks like it is old hat for him. Seth looks So big and cute looking at pretty Grace, and Sarah is busy looking at him. Having them all look up at you worked great! We got our tree yesterday. It is a Noble and is sitting NAKED in the living room. David is sick with a cold/sore throat, Bob was gone all day into the evening ( breakfast with Dad, church, and then ministry to the marines), and I have a sore knee, so no decorating yet. It smells like Christmas though! I went to church too and taught in the youth. Bob is doing the sermon next Sunday…so be praying for him, OK?Do you have snow?

  5. I am glad you were late for church! I love the pictures. We don’t get a tree. We do have a tacky little fiber optic thing that we usually put up, but we have been so busy that hubby has not had time to get the box of Christmas from our storage area in the basement of our building. I don’t see it happening today, either, as I am up to my ears in sauce I am making for a leader’s Christmas party tonight, a sewing project I HAVE to finish, and a visit to a brand new baby born last night! I can’t wait to see him and sniff that new baby smell! Anyway.. the tree will be in place by Friday, for sure because that is my cell group Christmas party, and Saturday I am doing an open house for my neighbors. We have to have decorations in place by then! LOL!

  6. Wonderful pictures. I love the second one, I think, where Seth is looking at Grace. No tree yet here either. My husband is away until the 18th and I haven’t decided if we will wait until then or go before. The way my children keep asking, I’m quite sure it will be before Wednesday ~smile~.

  7. What lovely pictures. We made it to church for the first time after missing the last few weeks, and I was convinced we were going to be so late – at the time we should have been in the car the baby was still eating breakfast in her pajamas! We made it only five minutes late, though … and thankfully the service always starts late!Grace is growing into such a beautiful young lady, and I really want to kiss Sarah’s darling little cheeks! We picked up our tree Friday evening, and decorated in on Saturday. The girls are enthralled, and I am loving seeing this time of year through their eyes!

  8. I know the last picture is the “best” one…probably as far as photography goes….but #2 is my FAVORITE!! It’s so true to life, and adorable!!!I do have my tree up, not decorated yet (although it does have lights)…BUT…there is no homemade bread on my counter cooling. (o:Happy Monday!

  9. Glad you took the pictures even if it made you late 🙂 The boys all look just alike WOW its crazy! We have had our tree for 9 days now and I love it! Hope you have a wonderful MONDAY!

  10. aww love the new pics of your kids. cool to see everyone changing a bit between seasons…mostly sarah and seth since the changes are most noticeable with them. they are wonderful pictures ;)sounds like a wonderful Sunday was had. we dont’ have our tree up because we are trying to discern whether we want a real one or a fake one. my mom has been reacting to trees thelast couple years and she loves them. so we’re trying to find a nice one that looks pretty real which the new ones do. however my brother is a traditionalist in only Christmas things and so its hard for him to accept the change when we’ve always gone out and gotten our own from a tree farm. so we’ll see what happens this year.hope you have a wonderful week.

  11. Jake gets me the most, my eyes go right to him, how can he be that old already?  He almost looks like a man, like he skipped being a teenager and is all grown up.  Caleb is hilarious holding his hands and sitting so proper with his hair all combed…so worth missing Sunday school, these photos are great!

  12. Can you please tell your children to quit growing up! I can’t believe how big they’re getting. Each one just keeps on getting more and more handsome/beautiful! Your heart must just skip beats looking at each of them… you have been blessed!!!No tree here yet. We’re going for an extremely simple Christmas this year, so I’m not exactly sure what we’ll end up getting. We have a birthday to get past and then we’ll think about that. (Which is odd because I usually can’t wait to decorate a tree… usually the day after Thanksgiving. Not sure why I’m laxing so much with that this year!)

  13. Your family is adorable! I am surprised you even tried this before church! Sunday mornings are ca-razy round here. I KNEW THIS WAS ANNE OF GREEN GABLES! I had to check tho. : ) Makes me wanna watch it. ; ) How exciting about Jacob’s joining the orchestra and Grace having a recital! We don’t have our tree yet either. : ( Just been too busy and lacking the extra funds, even though they’re not that expensive, just don’t want to buy it when there are so many other things needed. : ) We’ll get there though.
