**for he’s a jolly good fellow**

Sarah has a fever.  I had several naps in the night.  I’m feeling pretty good for not getting much sleep.  Life goes on, even when baby is sick and mama is tired.

Our Davy is 8 years old today.  He’s so excited about his very special day.

We gave him a matchbox car set, a lego set, a Star Wars apron, Star Wars pancake molds, and a dancing Frankenstein (he does the “Monster Mash” and Seth especially thinks it is SO funny, we already had to put it up away from him).

Happy Monday to you!

  1. Love the action shot of opening the present!  Happy B-day Davey!  We love you all and wish we lived closer so we could have a great big family party for you!  Shan, hope you will get a little rest throughout the day.  Today is a day to simplify school, and work on the basics with a little monitorying from mom.

  2. Happy Birthday to Davy! Hope Sarah gets to feeling better. I know what you mean about naps all night and life must go on. My little one has a cold and cough, so…. 😦 I’m very thankful for coffee today!

  3. Happy Birthday, David!  Looks like you got some fun stuff!  Praying that Sarah is better soon.  I like how you described your night- several naps.  Bekah will be 8 in a couple weeks.  I need to get on the ball and get her gifts.  Hope you get some rest today- maybe another nap!

  4. Hope Sarah is feeling better & Mom can get some rest.  Happy Birthday David!  We have Star Wars pancake molds also from Williams & Sonoma.  If you can get them to work let me know.  Our batter just sticks to ours.

  5. Happy birthday to David!!!  Hope his day is awesome!   My twins will be 8 in November.  So sorry to hear Sarah has a fever.  Hope your husband made it back and that he made it through the tough trip okay.  Enjoy your day! ~ Deborah

  6. Eight is a perfectly wonderful age – the cube of 2! Not at all an odd age. Matchbox cars are extravagant gifts, full of memories. How to keep my big brother from crashing them together while vrooming and screeching them in very uncivilized races? What was Dick thinking! Each night I’d put them carefully away in their cute card stock box garages. I’m going to have to pull them out and have a driver’s training session with my David.Happy birthday and thanks for the memories.
