Well, I really expected Caleb to come home tonight but he’s not. After his meds wore off he had another attack…couldn’t breath very well to the point where he got sick to his stomach. The doctors said he had to stay overnight and they admitted him. Our neighbor went to get Rich and he is on his way home to get changed. Then he is driving back to spend the night with Caleb. He said not to worry because Caleb is at a children’s hospital (I didn’t even know that) and he has a nice special room decorated with dinosaurs. He has two nurses and a doctor taking care of him while Rich is away and they gave him crayons, let him pick out a movie, and gave him chicken nuggets and fries for dinner.
Caleb’s worse fear all along has been “will I get a shot?” I asked Rich if he had to have one and he said no, but they were going to start an I.V. because Caleb wouldn’t drink and was getting dehydrated…..well, he sure started drinking after he found out about that!
Oh, I am so tired. I hope that Seth sleeps better tonight. He was up several times last night. I hope this medicine helps him sleep. I hope my busy mind and lonely bed let me sleep.
Thanks again for your prayers and the verses some of you left! God is near.
I prayed several times throughout the day as the Lord brought to my mind your family! This must be so scary for everyone. But I know you know God is watching over you all. He sounds like he is in very good hands at the Children’s hospital. I pray you get some much needed rest tonight. Blessings,Karen
Lots of prayers that your little one gets well soon, and that the whole family finds time to rest! Sounds like he is in good hands at the children’s hospital!
I just now caught up with your site, and notice that Caleb is in the hospital. “Oh, Father wrap your arms of strength and peace around Rich and Shanda, bless the doctors and nurses with wisdom, and continue to breathe healing into Caleb’s little body.”
I just read this too, and am praying for you all. It must be a nasty virus. Praying for God’s peace and healing.
Continuing to pray for you all!
I just read your site and my heart goes out to you and your sick little guy. I immediately thought of some promises that I read today from the book of Isaiah 44 (CEV): “I have chosen you as my servant. I am your Creator. You (and Caleb :)) were in my care before you were born. Don’t be terrified! You are my chosen servant, my very favorite…. I will bless your descendants with my Spirit. They will spring up like grass or like willow trees near flowing streams. They will worship me and become my people…..I am the Lord All-Powerful, the first and the last, the one and only God. I have rescued you! I am your King……Don’t tremble with fear! Didn’t I tell you? I alone am God– no one else is a mighty Rock.” Praying for a healing , restful sleep for all of you!!
Continuing to pray!! It is wonderful to hear that they are taking such good care of him. I hope you get some rest tonight!

All is going to be ok.. Caleb will be fine. 🙂 God has him in His hands. Praying for you and for Caleb.
I’m praying for your sick little boys and for peace and rest for you. So thankful Rich was home before all this came up. Great is His faithfulness!!
It has been a busy day and I just read these posts for the first time. Two hymns came to mind: “Oh Love, that will not let me go, I rest my weary soul in Thee…” and “His eye is on the sparrow (and I know He watches me)…” Thank God Rich is home right now, and you have the help of friends and neighbors. I am praying you will be able to rest tonight, physically, mentally, and emotionally…experiencing His peace in the midst of the storm. Praying for swift healing for the entire family!
Oh my dear, tears in my eyes thinking of how tired you must be, not to speak of the ache for your children being so sick. Hold on to Jesus. Praying.
Oh my friend…hope this morning, sunday, it all looks a little better for your children. Try to shower with cool water a lot and take little naps yourself…you will not be at ease untill all are safely home and recuperated….Praying for you.Lieve groetenGodeliva
Praying for Caleb and the rest of the family.
God loves little children so much and I know he has angels watching over yours. Is there someone who can come stay overnight and allow you to get one nights sleep? If not maybe you can get a nap in while the children have quiet time. The older ones can look after the young ones while you take a much needed nap. Isa. 41:10 is such a comfort to me. I am glad your husband was home to be a help to you. May God bless you and keep you, Diana
I have been praying for your family, hope all is well soon. What a story Caleb will be able to tell his siblings when he gets home! Thanks for keeping us updated.
Dearest Shanda, I have been so busy this summer I have not been able to look at Xanga. Thankfully the Lord brought me to your page this morning. I will be in prayer for ALL of your family, especially the Caleb and the little ones. How I wish we could be there to help you. ((BIG HUG)) and much loving affection, Mary
My heart goes out to you, and many prayers too.
Praying that all goes well today.xo
I can’t imagine how you must be feeling, not being able to be right there with your little guy! However, I;m certain he’s in great hands. Pediaric nurses are just that for a reason…..they love kids. I pray not only for your son’s recovery, but also that his experience is a smooth one!
Iwill send positive thoughts for your sweet son!
Praying for you all! May God heal your lil sweeties!
I’m praying for you guys. Thanks for keeping us posted on this. 🙂
