I got the camera out and took some pictures this morning of Sarah.
She’s changed during this last week, beginning to wake up to the world around her, moving her eyes to see, smiling at her Mama.
It’s not possible to slow down time for real and the days are just a galloping, slipping, racing by.
At least here in my online journal I can freeze some of the moments in photos and words.
“Little sack a sugar I could eat you up!”
She’s got the same dimple on her chin that her Papa does, and everyone else except Davy-do.
Davy has my chin.
This darling yellow outfit was Grace’s, once upon a time.
It’s got eyelet lace trim, light pink baby bows, a nice thick substantial fabric, tucks and ruffles, and a bonnet!
Seth is 17 months old now and quite active.
For instance, I’ve caught him coloring on the wall this week. And then on the floor. And then on the TV.
That’s just one example.
Oh, wait here’s another one……
He does NOT leave Sarah alone. I have lost count how many times I got that baby to sleep, only to have Seth wake her back up when I was off doing something else (like finally eating lunch or drinking my coffee!).
(notice our new hardwood floor? we had them put down in the l-room, master, and kitchen)
Our girlies (buckeyegirlie has me using that little love-name now! love it!)
Oh I am so thankful to have TWO GIRLS. What a treasure and a joy! Thank you, Lord!!!!!!!!!!! I still can’t quite get over the fact that Sarah is finally here! It has been an amazing year with this gift of a girlie arriving into our family.
And of course I am also thankful for our five boys as well. They’re all such interesting people, quite fun until around about 6:30 in the evening and I’m totally exhausted from running around all day. Doing what Moms do. You know.
Which reminds me, Rich is coming home tonight. When I think about it, I want to cry, I’m THAT lonely for him. Please pray that the last portion of his trip, this evening, is smooth and uneventful. He won’t be home until close to midnight……ugh…..hopefully I’ll wake up and notice him when he slips into bed with me.
There are a gazzillion things I could write about this week, a gazzillion little stories of a moms adventures with seven children…….but unfortunately I can’t think of most of them anymore.
I’ll just leave you a few of examples:
Me: noticing David had several small bald patches on the side of his head: “DAVID! Did you CUT your hair?”
David: with a guilty expression: “Noooooooo, I didn’t cut it, I used one of those mustache things.”
Also, the hardwood floor guys were here laying the floor in the kitchen on Wednesday. I was home with the kids, and we were all hanging out in my room with the door open. I put a Veggietales show on my laptop for them, and when the theme song came on I WAS DANCING TO IT LIKE A LOONIE, just in time for one of the workers to come in to ask me a question! That was quite embarrassing. You see, I don’t dance like a loonie for anyone except the kids. I stopped, turned red, and muttered, “You caught me! I was just entertaining the children.” Ha ha, I can’t remember what he said in reply…….yikes……
And, Ethan got to see an incredible sight. He witnessed two big bull frogs fighting, on the bank of the pond. He said they were wrestling around! I didn’t know bull frogs got that mad, did you?
And lastly, the children separated George from his hens and took him to their fort on the other side of the pond. George got worried about his girls and immediatly FLEW into the pond and SWAM to the other side! I didn’t know roosters could/would swim, did you?
Happy Friday to you~

I love the sound of your days. Never a dull moment.{{{{{{{hugs}}}}}}}}}}}
oh my you have me smiling the whole time I read your post!
oh, i could eat up that sack o sugar too!! she is so precious. so beautiful. what a GIFT!
She is so sweet, Shan! Love the outfit that used to be Grace’s. I had to smile at the thought of you dancing and the floor guy catching you. Ha ha! Your floor looks great, by the way!
I just love to hear about your busy days, they make me smile. Little Sarah Joy is just so beautiful but so are all of your wonderful children. The wood floors look great! Have a Happy Friday and we will be praying for Rich to make it home safely. Love you, Melissa
fighting bullfrogs, swimming roosters (no, I didn’t know they could), loonie dancing… what an adventure.Your darling baby is growing up so fast. She is changing her looks…not that newborn baby anymore. She’s precious.
Oh.. what a cutie pie and that smile is worth more than a million! Great job capturing it mom!!!I like your hard wood floors… I am sure it will be easier to keep clean than carpet!! :)Have a wonderful weekend friend!-B
Your girlies are so pretty — and so sweet. And I have lived on a chicken farm for most of my life and I didn’t know that roosters could swim. Must be a well-kept secret! Never separate a rooster from the hens he loves. AHEM! That reminds me that your ROOSTER is coming home tonight. Better pay a little attention to him when he slips in at midnight.
Oh my Sarah is sooooo soooo sweet and pretty. I too love that little outfit on her. And the smile! Mr. Seth is like my Daniel, they always said he wouldn’t leave the other babies alone in the church nursery. He wanted to play!!! Hope that Seth will understand soon. Maybe tell him to snuggle with mom while she is asleep…I know right when you have a moment. I was just moving pics on my frig this morning and looking at him…not so long ago he was the wide eyed baby. I hope all your children will be close. Mary and I are 16 months apart ( I was two months early!)The hardwood looks great! lol with you dancing. I am the same way, the family gets the goofy, but too shy otherwise.
Sarah is getting so big:) She is beautiful! I had to laugh about George. Glad Rich is coming home! I pray for his safe return.
so glad that you have the journal and photos to keep track of some of the special moments in your life and in the lives of your kiddies. i love that one where Sarah is smiling ear to ear. so precious. i don’t have any kiddos myself, but i definately noticed a change in my neice when she went from just being there and trying to take the world in, and then actually focusing on things…it was a cool change to see her start to recognize things. it always amazes me that seeing either mom or dad ellicits such a joyous response from her like’ those are MY people!!!’ love that you have your two girls to have joy in, and your boys as well. your stories about your chickens always amuse me, interesting to hear about George…i didn’t know that chickens liked lakes or flying..interesting. hope that you are able to see your hubby tonight when he’s home. i know its hard for you when he’s gone…
Sarah is getting so big!
Love the pictures of Sarah Joy, and all the funny stories at the end.
She’s soooo cute!!! LOve the songs to go along with the post! Your post sounds so happy today!!! Happy Friday to you. =)
Seth’s blue, blue eyes looking through the playpen netting and his two front teeth – I’m smitten!

Beautiful Girlies!! Glad you survived the week!! Have a great weekend!
I am so glad Rich will be back with you soon!Sarah is such a doll and I wish I could hold her. Four or five pictures down from the top, there is a photo that shows a close-up view of her little dimpled, soft baby hands. I could almost feel them – so, so sweet!
No I did not know that roosters could swim! That is an interesting fact to know – maybe it will be on Jeporday someday! I love your pictures of Sarah…I just want to cuddle with her. Hope you have a great weekend with hubby home – you made it through the week! Love you!
You are such an inspiration to me!What a beautiful family!Have a blessed weekend!xo, MZ
love the pics of Sarah ~
Sarah looks so much like Seth and her Daddy. Def. a girl version of them both. Totally Adorable!
I love her smile!
how wonderful!! She is so beautiful!!!
Thanks for the laugh…my mom had an experience similar to your dancing one…only she was running out our driveway, racing one of my brothers, to get the mail. My mom does not race silently. She was yelling for all she was worth…and as she rounded the barn she came face to face with a workman she didn’t know was there. Your baby is too sweet! And Seth has grown up so much. Love those pictures of him hiking…esp. the muddy diaper. Classic little boy.Sarah
Gosh those photos of Sarah are darling. I just love your blog and look forward to reading it all the time. Thanks for taking the time to share your life with all of us.
That rooster must have been desperate! It’s hard to watch or listen to VeggieTales without dancing.
I feel so much better…reconnecting with your family via pictures makes it so much easier to pray for you all!
