And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance forever.  And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places.  Isaiah 32:17,18

Our morning wasn’t without some craziness….but all in all, it was a cozy and peaceful part of the day, together.

And now, as we move into lunchtime, I sit here alone in the office and listen with a thankful heart to the sound of Grace making lunch, Caleb humming, Jacob talking silly to Seth, and Ethan mixing up milkshakes…….oh, it’s so good to be home and living this life of mine.

Isn’t it wonderful to know that our Father desires that His children have a peaceable habitation, a sure dwelling, and quiet resting places?  No matter how busy and full our lives are, if we just open our eyes we will see how much He has blessed us in these ways.  This is what home here on earth means to me….the peace of Jesus in our hearts and oozing into every day life.

My milkshake is ready………

Much love to each one of you, Shanda

  1. Your morning sounds just wonderful! I am so sooo looking forward to getting our house all moved, setup, and put together with the cozy touches that a family brings. It will be a new start to life with just me and the girls – but you are SO right in saying that if we just look around at daily life – we find JESUS’ love for us. He yearns for us to connect with him in ALL things – especially during out daily routines. Talking to HIM as we go Thanks Shanda for the sweet reminder of how beautiful this life on earth, when we turn our eyes, hearts, mind, body, and soul towards our Lord and savior!

  2. Shanda I love how you capture the peace in your heart and in your pictures. My morning was kind of crazy but at least I had peace (mostly anyway) in my heart. The verse you posted makes me think..And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance forever.  And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation, and in sure dwellings, and in quiet resting places.  Isaiah 32:17I just feel like my selfishness comes in the way of righteousness and therefore often my home is less peaceful than it could be. But that is why we have Jesus…so we can be freed from that selfish nature and learn righteousness. Then even when not everything goes our way (our kids have selfish natures too!!!:) we can still have peace in our hearts and spread it around by what we say and do in the home. Thanks for the reminder this morning.much love to you today dear sister in Christ!

  3. Sweet reflections of a precious morning. Once when we had to move, and life was in so much turmoil, I just wanted that sweet home peace. God is able to give it to us anywhere, but I am thankful for the physical state of home and family too. I love Seth looking up so sweet.

  4. The woods walk photos are beautiful!!!  Especially the first one!A lovely morning captured!  The waffles turned out fantastic and have made me very hungry, they look more filling than the yogurt and granola I had!

  6. Those waffles look amazing!!!!I was always so thankful to be home with my children. It was puzzling to me when some would ask what I do all day…as if it was something undesirable.I still love to be home.Best place in the world. Thanks for reminding me.xo
