sweetness

This is the third year in a row that Grace has put on her Christmas dress for some pictures outside in the snow.  She looks forward to it, I think mostly because she gets to wear my makeup and jewelry.

For me, it’s a time to enjoy my daughter, her youth and beauty, and think about how fast she’s growing up.  She’s a sweet and precious part of our family.

My Merry Christmas girl!

  1. ~ Grace ~ wonderful pictures, sweet memories to hold on to, a great tradition you and your mother share, watching the changes that come every year bring joy to my heart xoxox  Love ya Aunt Amanda

  2. She is breathtaking. The chocolate brown of those innocent eyes is so lovely. What a sweet tradition. I was thinking, “Some day Shanda will take pictures of her in a wedding dress in the snow.” White on white, wouldn’t that be something to look forward to? Merry Christmas beloved girl to you and your precious ones.

  3. Are you familiar with the winter books by Carl R Sams and Jean Stoick? (Winter Friends, Stranger in the Woods, etc.) Looking through your pictures of Grace, especially the progression over the years, made me think of those books, how the photographs tell a story. She is a beautiful young lady, looks the very spirit of winter and Christmas in these pictures. And I love the shoes.

  4. Grace, You are so beautiful and you are such a sweet young lady. Your mother loves you so much *( remember you are her pride and joy, you are her only daughter ) and keep this up, girl, every year, so, when you are a grown up lady, you can love and see and ponder over every photo each year of your growing up with you lovely ( busy but so lovely ) family. Ypur dad must be so proud of you, young lady of the mansion.Happy New Year.Godeliva van Ariadone
