Happy Saturday to you! I wanted to put a quick post up with the link that a few of you requested, for the baby shoes.
I followed the pattern, but with a few minor changes. I didn’t use interfacing because I didn’t have any and the flannel I used was nice and thick. If you are using a light, thin fabric you should probably use the interfacing. Also, the pattern calls for 1/8″ elastic. I only had 1/4″ and it worked just fine. In fact, I probably wouldn’t want the elastic any thinner than 1/4″. I decided to make Seth’s shoes with just one style of material, but it also would be fun to use different pieces for the heel, toe, and sole. If you make a pair, I would love to see a picture of them!

I have lead every one of those old songs many times and love them all–I find it so interesting the songs you know are the songs I grew up with and I was the song leader in our Church for many years until they started singing the wall-songs and now someone else does most of the leading and beside I’m getting old and its time for the younger to take over.I have a numbers of books with the Hymn Writers and how the songs came about and sometimes I share the story in Church before leading the song–Merle
Shanda, I had a brilliant idea this week thinking about those baby shoes. So I went by the Salvation Army, found a few old (probley vintage) coats for a dollar each, and am going to cut them up to make leather shoes for Gabe. And you can’t beat the price for leather. Just wanted to let you in on this “ah-ha!” moment of mine. I’ll try to post the shoes when I finish. Thanks again for posting this one. ~cheryl
