my colorado baby

“When a child is born, an immortal soul is born.”

“To have the charge of children, to form their minds in their tender years, to bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, and at last present them to Him, enables us to say, ‘Here am I, and the children Thou hast given me’—-oh, what a blessing!”  ~quotes from Golden Thoughts of Mother, Home, and Heaven.

I’m more happy and thankful than words can say…….

To God be the glory, we have a new baby due in June!

  1. I’m smiling so big!!! Praise the Lord! I’m so happy for you, Shanda! I loved hearing your voice today! I’ll be praying for you.

  2. You already know my reaction but I feel like I should tell you again how very excited I am, it is perfect, “God knows Best” I love that thought!  I think you and Rich should go for twelve, you have read “Cheaper by the Dozen” right? June is a great month to be born, just think the world will be awak and green and you will be able to take the new bundle out for walks. Also, and don’t hit me, if you have to choose between a church sized van or a small yellow bus, pick the small bus, think of how much the kids would love it?!!!!  Too far? Just let me know I have 15 mins to delete it.

  3. Dear Shanda, I am crying and laughing at the same time – in pure JOY and HAPPINESS for you!!! YAY for Colorado babies!!! You bless me so much with your recognition of children as GIFTS FROM GOD – such a contrast from the way our culture perceives them. Now, get to work praying for your sister Angie to get pregnant again soon, too, so our little ones can be buddies! WITH MUCH LOVE AN REJOICING!Angie

  4. OH joy!! Thankful and Happy for you, Rich, and the children! What a blessed and happy family you are. A joy for me, even from a far. I love all your dear faces. Lord bless you and continue to grow you in grace, strength, and wisdom. You are such an awesome mom.I am laughing from mymeanderings comments. Love and hugs, Jenny

  5. Yay rah! God is good—and surprising us all the time…I am praying for a girl really hard this time…even though, I know that your family will be wonderful still with another boy…but I really am hoping that there is a little girl on her way in June…

  6. I had a feeling that was coming. . . . as soon as I read of your trip. But who am I to say that to you!? My best friend, YES! I always tell her when she’s pregnant (she’s just had #6) but I’m not close enough to you to tell you when I “know”. lol! congratulations!!!PS—hope Grace gets her sis!

  7. Oh, what wonderful, glorious news! My hearty congratulations to you all–and like so many of the others on here, I am praying that this one is a girl, though I know you will all rejoice in him or her regardless.

  8. Hehe!!!  It reminds me of the commercial for Disney, when the little girl says something about her souvenirs, and she says “Yeah, and Mommy sometimes calls “insert chid’s name here” her little souvenir!”  Now you can call your new little (GIRLLLL!!!) your Colorado Souvenir.  :D!!!  Love you Shan!!

  9. I admit – I read this post twice!!!! I love watching you fill that big Amish table up with little ones! And, you have the perfect property to keep expanding your house as needed!!! I can’t wait to see you walking your new s/he in the woods!!! How are you feeling????Hugs to you!

  10. I’ve had you on my mind and heart today.. I got your note in the mail. So precious. I used some of the quotes you wrote out on my site tonight~ thank you sweet friend. These little ones are sure being born into a home of genuine CHRIST-FILLED love!! My heart rejoices with yours – Congratulations on this new LIFE! I’m already thinking of him/or her as “Colorado” ~ You’ll have to come up with some great western-y sounding name. ;)Much love to you dear~ a.
