This is the day the Lord has made,

I will rejoice and be glad in it!

(the verse I’ve been saying over and over to myself today……)

My sister and her husband are here.  There are children running around all over the place outside (theirs and mine).  We are about to make a big big batch of bacon and pancakes for dinner.  It’s been fun to spend time with Amanda, she always makes me laugh.  I am so happy to say that today has been a much better day for me.  **sigh of relief**

I had a doctor’s appointment this afternoon and my Doctor took the time to talk to me for quite a while.  She was so proud of the steps that I have taken to help myself get past this overwhelming newborn stage…for hiring the cleaning service and the doula, and for accepting help from my family and friends.  I felt great talking it out with her, which is also something important for me to remember when I’m feeling low…TALKING about my doubts & fears with someone I trust, instead of bottling them up.

I thought you might like to see a picture of me and the kids.  My sister took it just a little while ago.

Thanks again *so very much* for all the prayers, verses, and encouragement.  At some point I plan on sitting down with a big stack of index cards and writing the verses down on them.

Much love and HUGS (I wish I could give out real ones!) ~ Shanda

Love the picture of you and the kids- so much joy and personality shines through!  I am thrilled to hear that you had a better day, and Rich will be home tomorrow, and then you have the maids cleaning on Friday, and the doula is coming at some point too.  So much for you to look forward to, as you take your days one step at a time.  Baby Seth is growing so fast!  Wish I could give you a real hug too!  Much love, Hannah

  10. PTL! That’s really good news. All of your kids are the cutest I’ve ever seen, but that Caleb just tugs at my heartstrings. The pictures always capture his personality so well.Hugs and prayers headed your way.

  11. My brother challenged me with this verse.  He said “if you started the day with This is the day that the Lord hath made, I will rejoice and be glad in it. Do you end the day with….This was the day that the Lord made, I was glad and rejoiced in it.  Wow.  Sometimes I get caught up in the daily happening and don’t rejoice:).
You are doing great!!  Part of getting through this is to express yourself.  You are doing that and still engaging in society. You will get through this and thrive again!!!  You still inspire me even in your “down times”.

  12. HUGS… I know it’s not easy living away from family! It can be very trying at times… but God is faithful … He shines thro’ us wherever we’re at!! I have family in Pa., Tx., and Ok. and I live in Ga. Crazy, huh?

  13. wonderful to hear you’re feeling better dear~ I didn’t get a chance to comment on the last post, but I’ve been praying! And have a little something coming your way snail mail. <3sweet picture of you and all the kiddos.

  14. In my homeroom classroom at the child care center I work at…we have a season tree…and now that it is becoming Spring…we are starting to make flowers to put on the tree. And I have a little boy that loves to draw animals…and his bunnies are so cute…so, he drew a family of bunnies for the tree…there is a daddy bunny, a mommy bunny, and 6 baby bunnies…yes 6…5 boys and one girl…and we named them after your children…the smallest baby boy bunny is for Seth…Just showing you that I am thinking about you, and will continue to think about you when I see all those little bunnies on my wall at work…(I will send you a picture when we get the tree done)

  15. I’m a little behind here, but wanted to tell you what I think. You are amazing. You LOOK amazing. The kids all look very sweet and content and one looks a bit mischievous!  What a blessing you are! love, GAil
