~family blessings~

My brother and his lovely fiance were married on October 10, 2008 in a private ceremony.

I always admire couples that “think outside the box” for their special day, and do something that is creative and reflects their uniqueness.  David and Maria were married outdoors on my parent’s beautiful property, by our local Baptist Preacher, with only my parents and brother Isaac (who took the pictures) in attendance.  It was a special day for them and the weather was gorgeous.

I am the oldest of five children and David is the sibling closest is age to me.   I’m thrilled to see him so happy and to have a new sister.  Maria is a wonderful addition to our family, we all love her.

Congratulations to the newlyweds!

  1. it’s neat to see your family growing, what beautiful pictures! you can tell they were meant for each other, just the way she is looking at him! just one question…is that the famous frog pond behind them?(where we used to catch the HUGE frogs when we were kids?)if it is that has sure changed.!(i think david is the one who showed me how to pull the legs off a daddy long legs spider, and they would grow back.they were all over a picnic table in your front yard.!)Congrats to the both of them!!

  2. Hey, thanks for coming over to my house. :o) These pictures are breath-taking. What a pretty sister-in-law you have. I love the red shoes, too. – I’m a shoe girl. :o)

  3. My brother was married on the 11th (this year!).  That’s neat.  My brother had quite a few people there, and it was definitely my brother’s wedding…meaning that it definitely reflected his tastes all the way to the groom’s cake (shaped like a beer bottle, unfortunately!).  πŸ™‚

  4. It is one of those things where is sounds so romantic and intimate but I don’t think I could do it, there are too many people that I remember who came to my wedding that are still so important to me.  My friend Jenean just shot a wedding at a beach that was the same thing, there were only a few people there and it was really special.

  5. How lovely. This looks like how Beth wants her wedding. (She is still waiting on the husband.) I wore flowers in my hair to. Congratulations to a beautiful couple. May God richly bless them. Now the adventure begins. hugs from SC.

  6. Oooh, this brings back sweet memories of the small, intimate wedding Terry and I shared with just our family. I had been very apprehensive about it, like mymeanderings, but I have never, ever had even a shade of regret. Of course, we were able to celebrate with all our friends at a special reception a few months later. Terry’s poor health was the main reason we initially decided on the small wedding, though, and afterward I knew it was the right decision, as he was extremely sick following the reception (praise God he is much stronger now). So happy for your brother and his new, beautiful wife! I LOVE WEDDINGS!!!
