So, Rich and I are having a hard time coming up with a name for our fifth son, due in February. We have plenty of time to decide, but he and I both are looking for some input on the list we have come up with so far.
Our new boy will probably look something like this:
The names we already have used are:
Jacob Richard
Caleb James
Ethan Gregory
David Lloyd
And, here is our short list of possible names for the next one. They are all Biblical names, by the way. Let me know what you think. We stayed up talking about it last night and Rich made me laugh when he said he was about ready to offer a 100 dollar reward to the person who could name him.
Asher “happy”.
Elias “the Lord is God”.
James “one who supplants, replaces”
Peter “a rock”

I like Asher too ~ and Elias is okay. But I think the middle name should be Shane ~ after Shanda ~ since one of the boys’ middle names is already Richard. Peter Shane is cute ~ enjoy this process!
Paul Richard gets my vote. (I know it wasn’t on your list, but I thought I’d throw it out there!
Elias. You could call him Eli. I also like the name Silas.(That is the name if my sweet sisters dog.)
Elias Evan
Oscar Wyatt
Asher and Peter are my favs ~ 🙂
I love, love, love Elias and you could add james to it Elias James. God Bless
How about Peter Matthew? I thinik that one would be cute! Whatever ya’ll decide, I’m sure it will fit baby boy just right. 🙂
i do like asher, although elias is a very nice name also,i like the meaning of it.when you line all your boys up side by side like that it is amazing how much they look alike!i can hardly tell jacob and ethan apart on your log sometimes.
we still don’t have a definite girls name picked out yet.i have never had such a hard time with it,…went to the doctor today and the heart beat was 140 and the baby was active, moving like crazy.both of my girls were in the high 160’s everytime.i am begining to wonder!(the boys were both in the 130’s to 140’s).
I think I like Peter the best because it goes well with your his brothers names. I like all of the names thought so far. I like Asher because it is unique but if I were a boy I don’t know if I’d like that for my name–just being honest. You don’t hear Elias much but I like that name! Love you! Elisha
I am going to vote for Elias. Maybe Elias Richard after his Daddy? Just a thought. Have a blessed weekend!
Oops! Forgot you already used Richard for Jacob’s middle name.
What about Brandon Elias? Or Jonathan something? My mom named my brother Jonathan David so he would always be his own best friend (they were best friends in the bible…)Anyway you have adorable children and I am sure the new little guy will be just right…and I love Davy-do’s nickname!!! too Cute!!
I like Asher James. When Queena and Ethan had their baby they went to the hospital with a list and then waited till “Sweet Baby Dorie” was born into this world before they picked the name just right for her!
In case you’ve noticed, I keep coming back to read everyone else’s comments. (lol) Looks like Asher, Elias and Peter are the favorites. So…tell us…which do you like better versus your husband?? *Penny
I love Asher. Peter would be my second choice, I think. And you already used James as a middle name.
I know of a large family that has a Jacob, a Caleb, a David, and also a Peter…I just thought I’d throw that out there!
I like Asher!
I’m partial to Daniel Thomas
I like the name Asher
ai…first think I notice, the little pig cursor, so cute ^___^Fifth son, wow. You have all 5 boys? Going to make a sports team?
I like Asher and James. 🙂
I like Elias. It sounds gentlemanly & kind.
I love the names Isaac and Peter From Grace
My choice is Asher!! I love that name.
Longtime reader, first time comment. I love thinking about baby names.
I like fren’s suggestion of Peter Shane! Or Micah Shane which is not on your list!
Asher is different, but not weird. Which makes it perfect in my estimations! 🙂 I really like James too. My favourite Biblical names are probably Joseph, (I think “Joey” as a nicname is adorable!) or maybe Adam.Goodluck with selecting a name! You’re bless with such a handsome family! They’re going to break a few hearts someday! 🙂 lol oxo.
Sorry “fwren,” I mis-typed your name in my comment!
What about Aaron Michael??
Hello Shanda! How about the name Matthew. I have a brother “Matthew James” and he has a precious and priceless personality. I like someone’s suggestion of the name Shane for a middle name after you. Have agreat day!
I think Peter fits really well with the names you already have. 🙂
I like Asher and Elias. What about Malachi? That’s always been one of my favorites.
I’d have to put my vote in for Elias. Or Micah, as some of the other commenters have suggested. And I think Elias Peter has a very nice ring to it!My husband and I had a terrible time coming up with a boy’s name for our second child. The girl’s name we agreed on almost instantly, but it took a while before we found the perfect boy’s name–and we still can’t agree on a middle name! Maybe it will be a girl and save us the hassle of choosing …
I like Noah Lee. I know it isn’t one on your list but I thought it was cute.
In His Love,Jaime
i really like Asher, it’s different.i wouldn’t do James as a first name since that’s one boy’s middle.Asher Elias? that would be pretty cool. Grats on the little boy!
Love the name Asher! But, I think James or Peter goes great with the other five kiddos names you have…I noticed your pattern of five letters in each name…love that!
OK OK OK well I love the meaning of Asher and I like the name but to me ASHER I*** does not sound right that is how we (jason, me and Abbie think anyways) Our vote is for Elias Robert! But whatever I am sure we will be having this talk for the next 4months hahahha!
SINCE YOU ARE IN “BABY LAND” XOXOXO
Oh and I still really love Christian – Chris (it has 5 letters)
How about Johah? 5 letters. Biblical. Sounds good with the other kids’ names. Is your last name one syllable or two? *Penny
I like Asher and Elias, just because they are different. Have you considered Levi? We wanted to use it, but we already knew a man (and now several others) with the same first and last name.
ABSOLUTELY ASHER!!!!!!!! Asher Elias. How ’bout that? Do I get the hundred dollars? LOL love, Gail
i vote for peter. how about elias as the middle name then :)?!
Well i’ve always loved the name Landon… so maybe Landon James?..
and 5 sonsss! WOW! Goodluck to you mumma… I hope I have a son in the future 🙂
Asher’s a great name.
Asher James is my vote 🙂
I’d be inclined to go for Asher, as it is unique. Though you’ve chosen some wonderful names in general.Wishing you happiness,Taylor
your sons are adorable.
my brothers all have Biblical names too.
jacob titus
samuel david
abram michael
had i been a boy my name would have been joseph….not sure what the middle name would have been.
