I took advantage of the fall background colors and snapped a few individual portraits of my treasured jewels today.

They are all tucked in bed now, and the house is dark and quiet.

Time for me to curl up in bed with a good book, ignore my raging pregnancy related heartburn, and wait for my husband to get back home from his business trip.

  1. “When He cometh, when He cometh,
    To make up His jewels,
    All His jewels, precious jewels,
    His loved and His own:
Like the stars of the morning,
    His bright crown adorning,
They shall shine in their beauty,
Bright gems for His crown.” (William O. Cushing, 1823 – 1902)
Enjoy your book!  I love James Herriot books!

  2. Loved the pictures Shan. Sorry I haven’t stopped by in a while!! Didn’t have internet for a while. Congrats on another boy!!! Do you have a name yet? Can’t wait to see a picture of him with all the other children. I posted some new pictures you’ll have to stop and check them out!!
Love ya and hope your doing well

  3. Sweet photos of your jewels! That heartburn is the WORST, isn’t it? I had it with my second. I love the James Herriot books. I think I have read all of them several times. Hope Rich got home safe and sound. Blessings!

  4. You will treasure the pictures of your children for many years to come.  Several weeks ago my siblings were looking at old pictures.  It would have been fun to have many more.

  5. Precious jewels indeed.  Hope you had a nice reading time last night.  That heartburn can be terrible!  This last pregnancy, I broke down and took pepcids.  I looked them up on the Kellymom site to see their safety rating, which I don’t remember now, but it seems safe enough.

  6. What a nice way to wait out the time until Rich returned home – gazing at pictures of your sweet ones here! These pictures are beautiful as are the children in them!!! Grace always looks so sweet.Oh Shanda, I remember the heartburn all too well! Ugh. It started about four months into the pregnancy and continued to the end; it was especially miserable the last few weeks and I haven’t had a really long or good night’s sleep in months now. I hope you can get some rest; I know you will rest MUCH BETTER now with your hubby home…
