Good morning!

Liberty’s Kids is on the History channel.

Jacob is frying bacon.  He says that because it’s the 4th of July that we have to have a BIG breakfast.

I am so thankful for my country~

Happy Birthday America!

“The men who won in the Revolution and made this country take its place among the nations of the earth did it because they had in them courage, resolution, integrity, unbending will, and common sense.”

~Theodore Roosevelt

  1. Liberty Kids on the History Channel. What a great way to teach your children about the 4th of July! We have no plans, we can be so dull sometimes (!), but will at least try to drive somewhere to view some of our city’s fireworks display tonight. Hope you enjoy your day with your family by doing something fun!

  2. Isn’t it nice when they are old enough to be of help? I love my country, too and on days like this I especially miss it. In Denmark it is just another day. I did wear my red white and blue socks this morning until it got too hot.

  3. Good Morning Shanda….Happy 4th of July!
Maybe your sons will be doing alot more things for you when you are not feeling up to it? My 16 yr old son will cook macaroni and cheese for his 7 yr old brother at 11pm. Thats about all he will eat anyways. And he was hungry one night at that hour and still up!
    Have a wonderful day!!

  4. Yes, a big breakfast is in order! T and I just finished a nice late breakfast of waffles and watermelon with blueberries.Happy 4th of July to you and your sweet family!

  5. Happy Independence Day!  Hope you enjoyed your breakfast.  I think we are going to go into town for the parade and a couple of hours.  Have a wonderful day with your family!

  6. This from  John Adams, referring to the colonies’ declaration of independence right after 12 colonies approved of it and one remained silent:”The second day of July 1776 will be the most memorable epocha in the history of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary festival. It ought to be commemorated as the Day of Deliverance by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations from one end of this continent to the other from this time forward forever more.” Thanking God today for my family and yours and this nation that we love.
