I just smiled and laughed through your comments on yesterday’s post.  You are all so sweet!  It was nice to be missed.    I love what Danishdoll said about “bringing Caleb back to reality”. . .yes, that is exactly what we are doing!  He keeps telling us “I can’t!!” when we tell him to do something, in the same tone of voice that he would use to say “I WON’T” (which is what he means).   He will have to learn to share and to obey again. . .it might take a week or so.

The good thing is that the children are all exhausted and will hopefully sleep in this morning so I can sit here and post more pictures.

The ones I am sharing today are all from Magic Kingdom.  We flew into Orlando last Sunday, had a free day on Monday (Rich worked, I took the kids out shopping at Downtown Disney and we swam in the pool).  Of course, David was quite disappointed when the plane did NOT land right in the middle of Disney.  Poor boy, he cried and cried.  Waiting can be unbearable when you are five years old.

Needless to say, by Tuesday we were all very excited about going to Magic Kingdom.

The atmosphere is just so busy, happy, thrilling. . . .I don’t know how anyone could be grouchy at Magic Kingdom (unless you are too hot and overtired and under the age of 5. . .we saw/heard lots of poor screaming children who had had enough!!).  The music (I have Disney music playing on my site, turn on your audio if you want to hear it), the anticipation of seeing favorite Disney characters, even waiting in the lines for the rides is fun!  I went to Disney one other time, with just baby David, and it was not as exciting as going with Rich and Jacob, Ethan, Grace, and David.

. . . . . . . .                      . . . . . . .                        . . .. .

It was wonderful to watch the children experience it all. . . .I had tears in my eyes on and off during the day, because I’m an emotional sappy sort of Mom.  But, if you could have seen the sweet little ones (not just my own children) waving and screaming at Cinderella, and Pooh, and Snow White, Peter Pan, Mickey, Minnie. . blowing kisses with smiles and big wondering eyes!  They were all so dear.

Jacob said that it really did seem like a magical day.

The rides were great.  We went on everything.  David was big enough that he could go on the roller coasters and so we did.  Jacob got upset waiting in the line for one of them but Rich would not let him chicken out.  And once it was over Jacob was so proud of himself and never balked again.  Our favorites were the roller coasters, the Winnie the Pooh ride, and the Buzz Lightyear ride.  Oh, and the Mickey’s Philharmonics was so fun, and the Country Bear Jamboree. . . .”It’s a Small World After all”, the merry-to-round, the Dumbo one. . .the rides made us grin from ear to ear.  We went on many of them twice.

 . . . . . . . . . . . . . .                                                         . . . . . . . . .

……………………………………………………….. . . . . . . .. .

We went to Magic Kingdom two days— on Tuesday and then back again on Friday.  Our first visit flew by and we stayed from 9:30 in the morning until 9:00 at night (the fireworks were amazing!)  On our second visit we were tired out by about 5:30 (it was a much hotter day) and we left to go back to the resort to swim.

I took my little camera on Tuesday and saw SO many people w/big SLR Nikon cameras around their necks that I decided surely I could handle taking mine. . .so, on Friday I took my big camera and you will probably see what a difference there is between the two.  (not to mention that we are wearing different outfits, LOL)

For some reason I did not get many pictures of just Jacob and Ethan.  I think it’s because Grace and I went off on our own for part of the day and that was when I took most of the pictures (when David is with me I spent most of the time making sure he did not wander off).  It was harder to take pictures when we were all together, I was more into talking to Rich and the children. . . . .anyway, here is what I’ve got for those two days.  I hope you like them!

  1. Love the pictures! It really is a magical place. I wish every little kid could go at least once. The only thing I didn’t like were the prices! I guess you just have to bite the bullet and resign yourself to the fact that everything is going to cost about three times as much in and around the park as it should. I look forward to seeing pictures of Epcot. That was my favorite place next to Sea World!

  2. I am so glad you guys had such a good time. I have never been to Disney, but when Makayla gets bigger I would love to take her. I love the pictures of all the princesses but princess Grace Lillian is my favorite! Love you, Melissa

  3. it looks fabulous! My parents took us when I was a junior in high school (thats when my brother was finally old enough to “remember it”) and i loved it!!

  4. What beautiful pictures.  You are an amazing photographer. I love Disney.  Living in Florida, I have been blessed to visit many times.  I must say my favorite is the Magic Kingdom….it’s true magical Disney!  Many blessings and I look forward to more info on your trip.

  5. The one you took of just Gee close up is stunning!  I think you brought them all at just the right age, it’s cute how Gee collects minnie dolls!
    Glad to have you back!!!

  6. I loved all your pictures.  It reminds me of my own magical vacation there many years ago.   It was before I was married.  We haven’t taken our family yet.  We want Landon to be a little bit older. (he is only 3!)
I am so glad that you guys were able to do this all together!  It truely is a magical adventure.  Disney sure does know how to entertain!  I can’t wait to see more pictures!!!!  Have a good day.  I hope that you get to rest a little from all the excitement!

  7. I’m glad you had so much fun!  We went when my girls were 4 and 2 and they even had a good time but they were really too young.  I want to take them again with Isaac when he is old enough.  I missed your encouraging words this week.   Sherry

  8. As always, your pictures make us feel like we are right there with you!Can you even imagine having a job as a “princess” at DisneyLand/World??? Wouldn’t it be fun to make children so happy by just waving, saying hello to them, and letting them take a picture with you? Ahhhh, it must be the EX-actress left in me!

  9. The first time I ever went to DisneyWorld, I was 5, and I remember seeing the castle, going on “It’s A Small World” and going on Peter Pan’s flight…Now, the next time I went, It was 2004…and my whole family went, to celebrate my parents 25th wedding anniversary…and let me tell you! That was the best trip ever!!! I loved Winnie-the-pooh as well, and Mickey’s Philharmagic was awesome! Unfortunately, It’s A Small World was closed for refurbishment when we were there…grrr! But Splash mountain was AWESOME!!!My family took a picture in about the same exact spot on the bridge with the castle in the background…My parents went there right after they were married and took a pic there too…kind of a tradition in our family…The magic and wonder of Disney will stay with me the rest of my life…I have a father that still quotes Disney movies and is excited to go see the new ones that come out…I just watched “Cinderella” the other day, and it really brought back that childish giggle…

  10. It is so good to hear what a magical time it was for you all.  I have loved experiencing life through my children’s eyes as they grew up…..you get so much extra fun.  My favorite shots are Princess grace and your group shot…..though my favorite is from your last post with you and Rich!  Take it easy today as you all adjust to life at home.  blessings, Jenny

  11. What fun! My daughter will be one of those dressed up princesses.  One day.  She’s only 3 now, but in a couple of years…..right now, she is terrified of anything that’s bigger than her dressed in a costume!!  LOL
Looks like you all had a wonderful, “magical”, time!

  12. oh, what a wonder-filled place!   I am a huge Disney fan and I can’t wait to take Nate & Ally there.  She is a huge princess fan and I know her eyes would be wide and sparkling all day in a place like that!  Thanks for sharing a little bit of your vacation with all of us!  🙂

  13. Oh what joy and wonder. The looks on the childrens faces were a delight. All those little princesses, but Princess Grace Lillian was THE very lovliest of all. What an investment in memories! Love and blessings in SC.

  14. I have an award for you! Please stop by my blog to receive it. 🙂
Looks like so much fun! I love the sepia picture of Grace and the castle. I’m so glad that you are back and that you had a wonderful trip. Looking forward to more pictures! (Yesterday’s was cute too!)

  15. wow! those are awesome pictures!  We went to Disney 2 years ago and it was magical!  Kenna was still in a wheelchair at that time which was actually a blessing (in a strange way) because we were able to get a “fast pass” and go to the front of the lines.  This was really helpful since Kenna would have never lasted in the sun!  We had such an amazing time (I too teared up on and off through the entire day)!

  16. Your response to visiting Disney World with your family is just what Mr. Disney would have hoped for!It has brought back all the precious memories I have of going to Disneyland with Spence and Brianna when she was 5 years old.

  17. These picture brings back many good times we had at Disney World  we have been there several times over the years and someday we like to go back with our granddaughter have a great time and will look forward to your other picture’s

  18. I can tell you had a splendid time. How are you going to get those kids back into school mode now???? LOL! Your kids are just the perfect age for this. They’ll all remember their good time with mom and dad.

  19. It really is a magical place — I love the shot of Princess Grace Lillian, and the one of her sitting in the chair in Minnie’s house!

  20. Looks like all of you had a wonderful time — the pictures are great!  Grace at Minnie’s House — how very special!   Nemo & Davey — adorable!  Your children will remember this family time forever I’m sure!

  21. I loved the spotlight on “Princess Grace” in this post. She is growing up, yet still a little girl, and so fresh and sweet and pretty! Little girls are the best!I’m enjoying hearing what you enjoyed in Disney World; my parents took my younger siblings a few years ago, but neither my husband nor I have ever been! I’m filing your ideas away for some future trip…
