Amanda came over today. . .Weston is a little under the weather but well enough to come visit Aunt Shanda who doesn’t care if her children get sick from fellow family members.

It was such a wonderful day. . .full of sunshine, laughter, just a little bit of irritation (trying to keep the children all safe, happy, and well-behaved can be a bit much at times). . . .seems like we were constantly missing one of them, but it was mostly a laughter-filled day.  Too short, really.

It was a day that even the Moms went barefoot.

I bought myself a dress at Target about a month ago without trying it on first.  When I got home I decided I didn’t like it.  I had not taken it back yet so I tried it on for Amanda and she said she loved it so. . . . .guess I’ll be keeping it.

She wanted to take some pictures of me.  These next few were all her idea.  She actually took photography in High School.  I just know if I could get a camera in her hands (like today!) she would love the hobby.

She made me laugh during this mini-photoshoot when she told me to stop bossing her around and let her be in charge!  LOL  Guess I do have a lot of “bossy big sister” in me still.  Oops.  So, I shut my mouth and did whatever she told me to do.

  1. I’m with Amanda: I like the dress on you! Actually, glancing at the picture for the first time, without reading that you had not initially liked it, my first thought was, “How cute she looks in that dress!” Sort of a vintage flair, I think.Yay for a day hanging out with your sis! I’m looking forward to doing some of that this summer…

  2. That’s funny…I bought that exact same dress and didn’t like it on me…I took it back though because there was no one around to say it looked good. LOL It does look cute on you!

  3. Who took the photo you used to have up on the wall with Jake close up in black and white? Wasn’t that your brother?
I didn’t know your sister took Photography classes as well!  It is so cool that she not only took these pictures but that they were her ideas!  The dress is so pretty!

  4. What a fun post….so glad you had a day with sis.  I love you in the boots and dress…..I especially love you in  your green shirt!  Caleb cracks me up in that first picture….don’t know why….it is that little boy face….too cute to this mama of boys.  blessings, Jenny

  9. I love these posts I’ve had a chance to read just now — I always want to make it over this way and then my time at the computer is so limited that I post and run! 🙂 always blessed when I drop in here at your place. I can relate to so much — same stage of life ,etc. Would love to meet one day ~ :)the boots are fab! and the shots are so wonderful! the dress with the boots is even better and you look so nice in black and whites with your hair~ yeah for you going in that creek! I think it’s great when we moms still make it priority to enjoy life with our kids, and like our kids too at times ;)blessings to you and yours friendalyssa
