Thanks so very much for all the birthday wishes.  I felt so loved!

This is a picture of the shirt I got for myself yesterday at anthropologie, it was on clearance.

Rich and I got to go out alone for the first time in months.  My friend Karen watched the kids for us.  We went shopping and out to lunch at Panera.  It was nice, really nice.  I did not take one single picture.  I bought the shirt and also some new books, make up, chocolates, bath oil, and candles.

For dinner, we all went out to eat at the Olive Garden.  David was so funny, we were getting ready to go and he came down to show me what he looked like.  When I told him we were going to the “Olive Garden” he said, “MOM!  No, we aren’t going to the Olive GARDEN, we’re going to a restaurant!”

The kids behaved so nicely, I actually had a relaxing dinner.  Caleb ate like a little piggy and Jacob ate so much that he felt sick.  (he learned a lesson, in other words, on gluttony! LOL).   David got his chocolate ice cream all over himself and Rich made me laugh when he said, “Come here, David, let’s put your coat on so no one sees your napkin.”  (referring to the dirty shirt)

When we came home, it was in the midst of a heavy snowfall.  It snowed in the night and now it’s rainy/sleeting ~ something like that.  Homeschool is delayed an hour (or more) because of the weather, LOL.

Okay.  I was tagged to give 4 random facts about my self.

1. I love to read.  The first books I read on my own were the Little House on the Prairie books.

2. I prefer cats over dogs ANYDAY.

3. I’ve never broken a bone, but I’ve gotten stitches twice.

4. I want to try to make homemade soap someday.

I tag my sister, my sister-in-law, my aunt, my cousin, my other cousin, and my other cousin.  You know who you are.  LOL

  3. Pretty shirt!  Sounds like you’re gearing up for a nice relaxing bath.
Do try to make the soup, it isn’t as hard as it sounds (if you ignore my post yesterday).

  4. I love your new shirt!! Cutey-patootey! πŸ™‚ What your little guy said about it not being a “garden” but a restaurant is too funny. I love Olive Garden.

  5. hey, you could start with making homemade laundry detergent, not quite the same as real soap from scratch, but gives you a feeling of “littlehouseontheprairie” hehe….I just made some the other day
Olive Garden!!!  My birthday dinner choice, too!

  6. your special day sounds lovely…that shirt is just awesome…our 10 yr. old keeps saying “the yost school is on a 2 hour delay”
btw happy feet, this homeschooler doesn’t “homemade” very much!

  7. Hey well Abbie and I have the stomach bug and fever… I feel so sick and tired. Poor J last night I was getting sick in the bathroom and Abbie got sick all over her bed, then all over the floor, I am thankful he has a strong stomach. I love the new shirt yellow? thats a first I bet it looks great on you!

  8. I’m so happy, Shanda that you had such a nice birthday!
    It sounds wonderful!!!
And….how nice to have a family meal out at the Olive Garden. Your Rich….sounds like he has the same sense of humor as my Rich. He would’ve said the same thing LOL! I chuckled when I read that.
    Have a blessed “snow day”
    Love,
    Jana

  9. It just goes to show how easily it is to mis-read something. Others were saying “soup,” and I was getting ready to say, “Can’t wait to see a picture of you in your new shirt and “boots.” I am happy that you could do something special and fun on your birthday. Enjoy your year being 32. Your random facts helps me to know you a little bit better.

  10. Yey Panera!! I work there : -) And there is an Olive Garden right across the street, too.
I am so glad that you had a lovely birthday and were able to enjoy your special day.

  11. Happy Birthday!!!  Sounds like a much needed day.  I am glad you had a great time.  I have some yellow shoes to go with that shirt if you want to borrow them….I’m only a few hundred miles away..

  12. I’m glad you had a great birthday day.  Very cute shirt.  Casey’s home from school today, it’s so icy here, I can’t imagine going anywhere anyway.  Cats rule, even if yours are naughty…heh.  I haven’t seen you at my blog lately, come by sometime, huh?  Love ya.

  13. I’m so glad you had a good day!  The shirt is so cute- nice and springy.  I’ve never made homemade bar soap, but I do make my own laundry soap.  David makes me smile!  I love to read about all the things he says.  Today is my hubby’s birthday, so our homeschool was delayed a bit too!  Have a wonderful day, friend!

  14. Sounds like you had a wonderful birthday! I love the shirt, anthropologie has some adorable stuff. I particularly like their dresses.

  15. Oh my, my friend is 32! LOL you’re still a young thing to me!I delighted to hear you had such a fun birthday, what a wonderful yet simple thing Rich did by taking the day off just for his bride.HUGS and God bless!

  16. The shirt is so different that what I had in mind, even the hue is different.  I would have recognized it as Anthropology right away!  Your night at Olive Garden sounds like such a gift, I thought of you as I put my own dinner in the oven! LOL!  What is amazing is that you had a relaxing time, usually going out with any amount of kids is NOT relaxing! πŸ™‚  God did that for you!
