a hodge podge of photos

Well, would you believe I am sick?  I don’t even know what I am doing on the computer.

Rich and I both started getting sick yesterday.  It’s a cold only worse, because we feel completely exhausted, it’s almost like some kind of weird flu.  I didn’t sleep well last night and we’ve been laying around all day.  I guess we ARE RESTING . . . . .

Oh well, the kids have been fine all day and I managed to make some homemade chicken noodle soup, so I can’t complain.

I just had fun looking through some photos that I never put on my site.  Thought you might like to see them, too.

Enjoy!

This is one that Jacob took of me this summer w/my little digital camera. . .I’m at my parent’s house.

And this one was taken a few months ago, at my parent’s house.  Not the greatest photo, but I like it because I have my big camera with me, and my mom’s coat on, and I’m walking on the road I grew up on.

Rich reading to Caleb. . .another “foot picture” which I know at least one of you looks for!

Mischief-Maker, I still can’t figure out how he made such a mess with just 1/4 of a cup of flour!

David fishing this summer, with a stick and a piece of red yarn.  He really truly believed it would work, that’s why I love the photo so much:

Rich and the gang, it makes me laugh now, but at the time I wasn’t pleased with how it turned out.  Ethan looks like he’s seconds away from falling, but don’t worry, he didn’t fall. . . . .Jacob looks so NOT thrilled.

  1. I enjoyed these snapshots of your life, the one of Rich reading to Caleb is a tresure. So what’s happened to your little camera? Eric blessed Bri with her own DSLRand so she’s passing her’s on to her daddy for when he goes camping. My big camera has been so abused from going to the beach, being thrown in my purse to the dust of offroading.Hope it keeps working till I can up grade to 30D.

  2. Awww, I hope you feel better.  I know you had such great plans for today.  Well, maybe this is the way God is making certain that you do in fact rest and be quiet for the day.  Love the pictures.  Have I mentioned that I like the length of your hair right now?  Well, I do.
    Feel better friend!!

  3. Oh Shan, I’m sick too!  I hurt all over, especially my hips and shoulders, it’s so weird.  I started feeling not well late last night, and slept fitfully, waking up every hour, hurting and feeling feverish.  YUCK.  I hope you got some good rest today, I had a hot bath and now I’m going to take more Tylenol and then Nyquil before bed.  I love the picture of Caleb, in the flour, because he STILL has Thomas in his hand…hee.  I hope you guys feel better, and I’ll talk to you soon.  Love, Trish

  4. You’re getting lots of soup today… xanga soup, that is
I hope and pray that you feel better very very soon… bing sick is not fun at all!
What wonderful pictures! The cat one makes me laugh out loud, the one of your husband and Caleb reading is precious, the sleeping baby and cookie one is priceless, and i really like the one of you and your children dressed up to sing at church.

  5. Shan, I am so sorry that you are sick! I am praying for you and Rich. You better take care of yourself and get some rest. I loved the pictures. Praying you sleep well tonight, friend. -Tara

  6. I hope you get to feeling better!!!!  I am glad the kids are behaving while you are without much energy.
Those pictures are great.  I think my favorite may be where Caleb has a flour mess on him!  That was too funny.

  7. I am amazed that you were well enough to “talk to us”…the way you described how badly you felt again confirms what an incredible woman you are. Please rest…as long as it takes. From the looks of things you will not need to make another pot of soup for a very long time…YOU ARE WELL LOVED! I enjoyed the pictures.

  8. Awww, I am sorry you are sick. Hope you are feeling better soon. Drink lots of fluids, get lots of rest, and chicken soup is just the thing. 🙂 HugsP.S. That cat picture is too funny! I would have never gotten my camera in time to snap something that cute. 🙂

  13. Oh, no! I hope you feel better!!! We just came off of 2 weeks of the flu! We came down with it Christmas day at my parents… :o( I will be thinking of you and praying that it passes quickly!

  14. I hope you feel better soon, is rich home today then?  Do you have a good book to read so you can stretch out on the couch with it? What biography are you reading right now?  Shan I will pray for you all day.

  15. I can’t even pick a favorite, they are all just wonderful. What an artist you are! Oh I hope you are feeling better soon.  My Ed was feeling better and then got it again. He was teaching Sunday School yesterday and I just watched as the juice went out. He spent the rest of the day on the couch poor thing. So….give yourselves plenty of time to recoup. Praying for you daily! Love and blessings in SC.

  16. We have it here too!  Miserable virus!  I have a heat patch on my neck right now because the Tylenol isn’t working and my neck aches so bad I can barely move.  Not doing much around my house today either.  When will this bug go away?  Rest up.  Hope you are feeling better soon.  I’ve missed visiting your blog over the holidays.  You always bring me so much joy!  I love your pictures and words of encouragement.  This is one of my most favorite blogs to visit.

  17. Praying you feel better and the Lord gives you His grace!  Hope you are resting. We found lots of Vit C and liquids helped!  I loved the pictures of your family….such happy times.  You look lovely with the kids ready to go sing.  I think little Caleb is content….he can go to sleep without having to eat the cookie! Jenny

  18. I loved the hodge podge!  I hope you and Rich feel better very soon!  Didn’t you just get over some bug or did it never end?  I think of you often and hope that all is well!  Love, Lish
