my Christmas present

DSC_4902 It’s here!

We had to wait all day yesterday, and it was finally delivered at 7pm.

I found all my old piano books in a box downstairs, along with my old year books.  It was strange to look through the yearbooks, public school is a dim and distant memory.  However I did chuckle over one thing. . . .

In my Jr. year of H.S., my future husband Rich wrote in my yearbook!  One of the things he wrote was, “who knows, maybe we’ll become closer in the future. . . .”  Isn’t that funny?  We had gone on 1 date but little did we know we would some day be married with five children.   Yes, Rich, I guess we did become closer in the future!  And, here’s to many many more years together.

I’m so thankful for my husband, and our wonderful life.

  1. You look so happy!!  That’s a wonderful gift, it looks beautiful — Ours doesn’t get used much since the kids have moved out — I bet I’ll hear it being played over Christmas while they’re home!

  2. How wonderful!!! I am SO excited for you… I remember the joy of when we bought our current piano, which is much better than the old, out of tune, and beat up one that I learned to play on. I am sure you will  have a home filled with beautiful music this Christmas!
And that is pretty neat about what Rich wrote in your yearbook….

  3. LOL ROFL i am sorry, i cannot help laughing at what broncomom wrote.  she is one of my dear dear friends so i can chuckle at it since i know her so well and i know she made a funny funny typo!!! LOL that is just too cute!
i love your new piano and i also love the joy on your face!  what a fun comment to find in your yearbook that your husband left all those years ago.  what a treasure!  merry christmas πŸ™‚

  4. Yay!! I was thinking of you and your piano yesterday. You look blissfully happy!

  5. How wonderful!! You look so sweet and happy and I know as the hours go by you will be even happier as you and the children spend time playing that beautiful piano!!  Love Riches comment
I laughed  at my sis (broncomom) too.  I never knew til xanga that she makes these funny typos…..maybe she was too busy in High School taking art classes to take typing.    Doesn’t really matter….just makes us all smile….cuz we knew she meant house.  We spoke of you today when we talked on the phone …how much happiness your posts bring, and what a blessing it is to see your growth in the Lord and wisdom at a young age.  Praise to God…expecting many blessings with our children!
Love and blessings on your Christmas…we are busy baking, wrapping gifts, and looking forward to times with extended family…..yes, and especially ALL my boys and my daughter in laws.  At one point we will ALL be together…planning to take a picture then    Jenny

  6. YEA!!  I am like you in that I have taken lessons as a child but never looked to “get to any level” in playing but I do LOVE to play and the Lord has recently increased my skill (I asked Him if He could help me to write beautiful music for HIM and…He did :))  I have only played a few times for worship (among maybe 20-30 women) but usually it is just me and the Lord and I play for Him and to Him and I can just get lost in worship.  I am sure I am not a “good player” by any standard but I know it sounds beautiful to the only One it matters to.
Oh, and I am so glad you are back!  I so enjoy your blog probably more than you could imagine.
    Have a blessed Christmas!
    ~Amy
