As most of you know by now, Rich’s Dad was in a terrible accident yesterday.  I won’t go into details here, I just want to ask you to continue praying.  We thought he would be going home last night, but we were called this morning on our way to church and told that Dad started getting sick and his blood pressure shot up.  Consequently, they are keeping him in the hospital for at least one more night.

When we got home Rich spoke to his Dad on the phone for a few minutes.  After they hung up Rich decided to go ahead and drive out to see him.  He wants so badly to see his Dad, to hug him, and touch him. . .

Even though it means I am now alone with the kids, I feel perfect peace about this decision.  Rich took Ethan with him for company and to let Ethan experience joy in comforting others.  They should be back tomorrow evening, Lord willing.

If for some reason, you did not get my private message explaining what happened, message me and I will let you know.  Thanks for praying and your concern.

Here is a picture I took of our gang this morning:

“Beside us to guide us,

our Lord with us joining,

ordaining,

maintaining His Kingdom divine;

So from the beginning the fight we were winning,

Thou, Lord wast at our side;

The glory be thine!”

~from the hymn, “We Gather Together” by Theodore Baker

(We sang this hymn in church this morning, this was the 2nd verse of it.)

  1. I will be praying for Rich and Ethan as they travel as well as for his dad.  I think it’s good that they were able to go and I think Rich will feel better for it.

  2. Rich will be so glad he went.  We were very happy that we went to be with be my dad last week.  (He was in the hospital with congestive heart failure.)  God will give you a special grace for tonight and tomorrow while he is gone, too!  I’ll be praying for that.

  3. I’m glad that Rich & Ethan were able to go to see his Dad, I hope they have a safe trip there & back home.  I will continue to pray for you & your family.  Your kids are so cute!!   That is a great picture of them.

  4. What a nice group of children all dressed up!  And I’m so glad that Rich and Ethan went to see Rich’s dad — they’ll both feel much better for it!  I’ll be thinking of you!

  5. I will pray for Rich’s Father and safe travel for Rich and Ethan.  I did not get the message about what happened, but will continue to pray for all of you…  Great picture of all the kids.

  6. So sorry to hear of an accident. . .I didn’t get the message either, but will pray for all of you. Also, just read your post about judging others. . .haven’t been on for several days. I could have written the same thing. I so often feel judged by other Christian women when I think, “We’re all in this together!” We need each other desperately. . .why do we often seem to shoot our wounded? Or those who do life a little differently than us? We’re supposed to be different. . .that’s how God designed it. Sorry for your suffering in all areas. . .hope your day with the other four goes well today as you await your husband and son’s return—

  7. I’m so sorry to hear about the accident. I’ll be praying for him as well as Rich and Ethan to have a safe trip. I would feel the same way if it were my dad. I hope you’re doing well and I’ll be praying for you as you hold down the fort. Hugs!

  8. Praying for you!! I didn’t get the message, but I will be in prayer for continued healing of Rich’s father! and for you as you are home with the kids! What a message in that song! What a God we serve!!!!

  9. I’ll continue to pray.  I thought yesterday that mine weren’t needed; perhaps they are.
    I had to go it alone with our five when Dear Departed’s dad was on his deathbed in HONG KONG.  That was a long trip for Dear Departed.
