“Hey!  You got any birdseed, lady?”

I was in my room today with the kids, watching them play a game on the computer.  Outside, on the porch, a blue jay landed on one of my wooden planters.  I took the picture from inside my room, over the heads of my children, through the glass window, and between the porch railings!  Not bad!

  1. What a neat picture. You got such detail from inside the house, through the window?? WOW! Awesome!!I tried out my new camera today. I have some practicing to do. lolBlessingsMelody

  2. I love those close-up shots. Nice.  Blue Jays are one of  those creatures that I cannot decide if I like or not.  Truly they are very pretty….but so noisy.  They devour the snails…but they also go for our finches.  Ah yes…I am sure that God is glorified by them so I guess I will try and see the good.

  3. You were thinking of me, right?  LOL!  Not only is the photo not bad, but it is fantastic!  This morning, while sitting in my chair doing my reading, out of the corner of my eye I saw movement ~ when I turned my head, there were 4 blue jays just outside the window on my feeder backed by the red of my firebush and the gold of our silver maple.  It was stunningly beautiful and I couldn’t get a photo because of the blinds between the panes!  But I thanked God for at least letting me experience it.  I fixed the window so I could take a photo through it and waited and waited.  They didn’t return ~    ~ maybe tomorrow!

  4. That’s a great shot — much better than I did last week when I heard a jay sitting on the trunk of a palm tree — and I didn’t have all those obstacles!

  5. I love this picture!  I miss Blue Jays.  We don’t have them here where I live.  One summer morning about 5 years ago I was laying in bed.  I heard the distinct call of a Blue Jay.  My thoughts at first were, “how nice, the Blue Jays are up this morning (I was born and lived in Ohio until I was 10 years old).”  Then my brain went, “wait a minute!  We don’t have Blue Jays!”  I jumped out of bed, ran down the stairs and out the front door.  I stood looking up in the direction of the calls and sure enough there was a Blue Jay in the tree in our front yard!  What a treat!  He must have been lost.  Oh, I miss Blue Jays.  Thank you for sharing this photo.
