another moment in time

I ache.

I have chills.

I’m tired.

I guess I’m sort of sick.

After we got home from church this morning, I got into my pj’s and crawled into bed.  After a few hours, I missed everyone and went out on the porch and sat on the front step.  Husband and the kids were coming up to the house from the lawn.

This little boy makes me so happy with his littleness.  In my lap, he feels good, sounds good (especially when he says “mama”), and smells soooo good to me.  So much so, that I asked husband to get the camera and he took these photos.  Me in my pj’s and robe, with my hair pulled back in a funny way.  Little one with his dirty face (oreos).

I’m just so thankful for the little guy!

  1. Ooh, looks like the bug hit hard — do feel better soon.  It’s so nice to see that, even when you’re sick, you still enjoy having the family around you!  Do take good care!

  2. “Caleb makes me so happy with his littleness” I  love that!  I pray you feel better very soon!
RYC: I feel so deeply that a women needs to be a helper and a homemaker whatever that looks like but it is our need. It is not ‘popular’ these days and somehow has got a bad name to be a homemaker and a keeper of the home but it is our highest calling!
Oh, and my #3 and #4 are very closely related as well πŸ™‚  I think we could be good friends in “real life” πŸ™‚

  3. so sweet..love it, and sorry you’re not feeling well…use it as a good excuse to stay in your pjs all day tomorrow and take it easy, as easy as possible while still a mommy…. =)

  4. I hope you get to feeling better soon!
I am with you………….there is nothing better than our little boys in our laps!  I love the smell of my little guy too!  My hubby always laughs at me when he catches me smelling him!  Motherhood is hard work but it is WONDERFUL in those tender moments.
    Have a restful evening!

  5. Shanda-So sorry you do not feel well. I will pray for you tonight. I hope you get some good rest. Isn’t Caleb just a sweetie to cheer him mommy up? Don’t you just love a little boy’s hugs and kisses? πŸ™‚ Take care my friend.

  6. Hope you are feeling better tonight, i had a cold for 2 weeks but am finally over it, eat some chicken soup and a cup of hot tea, that should do the trick and remember that we are praying for you,
                                                              GOD BLESS,
                                                                       SANDY

  7. I hope the rest did you good at that this morning you are feeling back to normal! I remember I used to love to hold my kids and just SMELL them when I cuddled them! There is something so sweet and vulnerable about the back of their necks, y’know? I used to love to put my girl’s hair up in pony tails so their sweet necks were available for me to kiss and sniff! Call me crazy!   Oh! And when they had been playing all day in the sunshine and fresh air? Nothings smells better than your children’s sunwarmed skin!

  8. Sorry to hear you feel down. I wasn’t feeling well yesterday afternoon. One of my children looked at me and asked if someone had hurt my feelings! I must have looked downtrodden! Praying this passes from you quickly! Get well, soon! Hugs!

  9. The icky bugs have been going around…sorry you got bitten!  I do love a good snuggle with my girls (especially my teeny 2 year old) more than almost anything else!

  10. So sorry you’re not feeling well. I wondered when I didn’t see you last night. I hope you’re feeling better today. And there’s nothing like a little one to bring a smile to your face. πŸ™‚
