first day of fall

Hello to my dear xanga friends!  Well, today is a day to celebrate—the first day of fall, my favorite season.  The colors are bright, the sun is liquid and pure, the air smells delicious, and the leaves are changing.  It’s time for apple cider, donuts, caramel apples, and stew.  Time to get out the sweaters, start wearing the darker colors and cozy up in our favorite warm blankets.  *Happy sigh*

Thanks so much for all the friendly comments to my last post.  I had so much fun putting that together.  I love that song, my high school best friend and I used to sing it in 2 part harmony–it was “our song”.  My grandma, who is now in heaven, taught me all 3 verses.  Now I enjoy singing it to the children.

I like my blog to represent my whole life–not only do I love my family with a passion, but first and foremost I love my Saviour with a passion.  I am so thankful that Jesus found me and saved me and that I am His own.  I’ve been saved since I was 6 years old and I sincerely love and follow after Him; my God, my Lord, Saviour, and Friend.  Reading His Word is a delight just like these verses say so well:

The law of the Lord is perfect,

converting the soul:

the testimony of the Lord is sure,

making wise the simple.

The statutes of the Lord are right,

rejoicing the heart:

the commandment of the Lord is pure,

enlightening the eyes.

The fear of the Lord is clean,

enduring forever:

the judgments of the Lord are true

and righteous altogether.

More to be desired are they than gold,

yea, than much fine gold:

sweeter also than the honey and the honeycomb.

Psalm 19:7-10

And, here is a photo that I took yesterday when I went for a walk:

sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

  1. I adore Fall!! Yes, I love how the goldenrod has been popping up everywhere, it’s so beautiful. I loved the donut picture in your last entry, it was so cute! Your whole post made me tear up and look at my little cuties, how sweet they are and how fast they grow! Blessings to you.

  2. Happy fall to you, too! :)I always think of my mom when I read those verses. She taught me a song when I was child with those verses. Verses seven through nine were the “verses” and verse ten was the “chorus.” I always remember the words to those verses now. I love putting Scripture to music, especially the Psalms. They were written to be sung!

  4. Autmn is my favorite as well. though spring falls hard on its heels.  Yeah to apple cider and sweaters, a cozy fire to curl up next to with a really good book, and a cup of tea. Psalm 19  was sung at the Bible school we attended a zillion bright autumns ago in England.  I do so love your heart for Christ! You always bless me! M in SC (blessings back attcha)

  5. Fall is my very favorite too! I enjoyed my first mug of apple cider just the other day! Thank you for sharing the exhorting verses.
