“A saved soul has many sorrows.

He has a body like other men-

weak and frail.

He has a heart like other men-

and often a more sensitive one, too.

He has trials

and losses like others-

and often more.

He has his share of bereavements,

deaths, disappointments, crosses.

He has the world to oppose,

a place in life to fill blamelessly,

persecutions to endure,

and a death to die.

And who is sufficient for these things?

What shall enable a believer to bear all this?

Nothing but the “consolation there is

in CHRIST.” (Phil. 2:1)

“But have you come to Christ already, and found relief?

Then come nearer, nearer still.

The closer your communion with Christ,

the more comfort you will feel.

The more you daily live by the side of the Fountain,

the more you shall feel in yourself

“a well of water springing up

into everlasting life” (John 4:14)

You shall not only be blessed yourself,

but be a source of blessing

to others.”

  1. This is such a nice post! I just wanted to mention that I copied A Mother’s Prayer that you posted a long time ago (You had visited my site through another Xanga. I liked the poem and saved it…) I linked to you, too.

  2. ryc:  9 to 11 days.  I was a bit nervous with my first butterfly and took her outside long before she was ready to fly, then put her back in the aquarium.  After coming out of the chrysalis, it takes a few hours until they are ready to fly.  My sister-in-law said when they begin opening their wings a lot.  Yesterday I almost waited too long!  We were having overnight guests and I thought they might enjoy seeing her being released, but I soon realized Molly did not want to wait that long.  I was afraid she would be flying around the house for awhile, but, with Cerwin’s help in holding the door open, I got outside in time.
