some love in an envelope

Just when I needed some encouragement:

This is a set of hand-made cherry napkins from my friend, Amanda.  She read on my site that I like cherries and she kept searching until she found this material–perfect for the cherry lover!  I was so surprised and so touched.  She even found a notecard to go with the gift!

I know for a fact that when we take the time to encourage one another it is very pleasing to God and I urge anyone who may read this to go ahead and do something for a “special someone” (child? husband? friend? stranger?).  Be on the look-out for ways to lift up others.  It’s so important.  People get tired and weary and an unexpected ray of sunshine may be just the thing they need to keep going.

By this shall all men know
that ye are my disciples,
if ye have love one to another.

John 13:35

  1. It brightened MY day just to read of your friend’s sweet gesture! “People get tired and weary and an unexpected ray of sunshine may be just the thing they need to keep going” – so true! Isn’t it amazing how powerful such simple things as an encouraging word, touch, look, or act can be?

  2. Oh is this not precious?   And you are so correct, encouragement is so needed these days in the Body of Christ, and especially us sisters in the Lord that sometimes grow weary at various times.  Isn’t it something how the Lord uses these labors of love at the perfect time?  God is so good.
I enjoyed the pics on the entries below too, beautiful children and mama too.  God’s handiwork…perfect.
I appreciate you, and I hope that I can be an encouragement as I read your encouraging comments as well.
    Hugs,   ~Amelia

  3. I needed this today!  Your reminder to reach out and do something nice for someone is good advice when feeling down (I am a little bit right now).  It will help me get my mind occupied and think about someone else tonight.  (then maybe I will be able to sleep).  Thanks!  🙂

  4. Cute napkins —  my mom and I stopped at a big gift shop on the way home from Roanoke yesterday and I bought some cute heart-shaped napkin rings and I was about to purchase napkins to go with them (I needed 8) and they were $3.99 ea. so I decided I’d get a couple of yards of material and make my own!!  Wonder where she got that adorable cherry material!!  Glad you’re back — I’m home for a couple of days then Monday we leave for the Ohio/Kentucky area to visit the Creation Museum with our son and his wife — I’m really looking forward to it.   Gave a great day!
