This is Patches. She is a young feline. She is hunting.
Yes, frog legs are considered a delicacy in some circles.
But, Patches’ family is quite shocked over her recent uncontrollable taste for Frog. It is something no decent cat should do.
It is spoken of in hushed tones. Her mother tried her best to get her to change her ways. “Think of your family! Think of your future prospects! Just look at what has happened to your pretty fur, disgraceful!”
Alas, Patches listened respectfully but decided to go her own way, back to the stream. There are frogs to catch down there.
The desire is strong and apparently we’ll just have to wait and see. Will she continue to hunt for amphibians? Only time will tell.
The frog you see in the photos lived to tell of his near demise. I have heard rumor that the frog community is quietly plotting revenge.

LOL! Love that 2nd pic! poor frog. Great story!
I just want to tell you again how much I enjoy your blog!! You are one of my favorite subscriptions, and even though I don’t know you in person, you have many times offered “a breath of fresh air” through your pictures, your use of Scripture, the things you write about your family, and your stories about life… thanks! ~Joy
Cute story!
Oh my goodness, my family got a HUGE laugh out of your frog versus cat story. What a lovely way to start our day- with laughter! Thank you for that!
Although cats can appear sweet and innocent, their ability to “play” with their food is quite appalling. I remember as a child rescuing many mice and rabbits from my cat.
The revenge line reminds me of the movie “Frogs” that I saw as a teen. Watch out cat!
Cwazy kitty! My cats used to catch moles. They never ate them, they just liked to catch them. It made me wonder if moles have some kind of weird taste. I’ve had frog legs before, and they ARE good! LOL!
Even if Mae thinks frog legs are good, I think I’ll leave them for cats to eat…
A beautiful cat!
Ohhh, maybe you’re the next B. Potter, but you’ll tell you tales with photographs!
Cats kill stuff. It’s what makes ’em cool.
Cute story and pictures! My cat is a hunter through and through. We frequently have “surprises” on the front porch when we open the door. I’m sure he would love the challenge of frogs!
Very cute. Let me know how you like your new themes. It seemed that my pics wouldn’t fit on it without making them a lot smaller. What do you think? That’s the only reason I haven’t switched.
Your pictures look fine. They don’t all look like you used the standard size. Are any of them the large or medium size? Anytime I used anything other than standard it chopped off the end of the picture. As for children’s books, one that we read a lot is a Baby Einstein book. It has terrible rhyming…same with a couple of golden books (not the golden books I read as a child, but new, stupid ones). I make sure to read good ones to him, but he often brings me the ones I don’t like to read. π Perhaps I will sell them.
Shanda, that is hilarious! Poor little froggie, glad it survived. That Patches, what will she be up to next?
Patches! I’m ashamed. π This was a very cute idea for a blog. I loved reading it.
Ah, revenge is sweet, they say, but if that cat wakes up to a bed full of frogs ~ a plague ~ look out!
Disgusting and funny at the same time..what do the boys think of it?
OH BOY..Love the second pic, glad she spared his life.
Your new layout is cute. It cuts off part of the pictures on my computer though. Very funny about the poor froggy.
I LOL’ed so much that DH asked what I was laughing at. I told him about the cat & frog, and said Come look at these pictures – we need the camera SHE HAS!!! Maybe if I start sweet talking now…..LOL
That is so adorable!! Poor little frog, those pictures “toad”aly cracked me up!
I once had a cat that brought me mice as presents — would take them back outside for me, too, if I opened the door! I love your story, and the photos are great too. Your children will treasure this post.
Loved that funny kitty story.
Kelly
Haha! I’d rather frogs than the bats my cats kill and leave for me on the porch!
Your story is just too funny. I know our cats have been on the prowl lately as well. Only they are after the baby bunnies and the chipmunks. I suppose those might be more respectable catches for the family cat?
Love Your post and you too of course!
~Colleen
cute story!
So cute! Maybe you could make a little scrap story book?!
Perhaps the froggy town leaders will appoint someone to bell dear Patches. Another story awaits. I enjoyed this one.
What a hilarious post.
Ahhh…the life of a cat….
