The camera is intimidating, but very interesting and fun.
Rich loves that he can now take even faster rapid-fire photos.
I thought the pictures looked better on the camera monitor, so I was a little disappointed after downloading them onto the computer.
I watched the DVD that came w/the camera 2 times.
I love the wide lens.
I am excited about trying to take pictures of the birds at the feeder.
For that I will need to sit still for a while.  Not easy!

Other than photography. . . . .
I talked to sister, mom, and dad on the phone.
We went out for ice cream, errands, and to pick up pizza.
I’ve been cleaning, doing laundry, and reading.
It’s been a nice day.

  1. I like the colors on the first one.  Jacob’s eyes just pop out.  Maybe they’d look that way with a regular “old fashioned” camera too but it is very striking.  Have a great rest of your weekend.

  2. I can tell a difference in the quality of the camera.  Amazing!  You have a good eye, which helps!  🙂  I’m still envious.  I looked at them tonight at Sam’s Club (our equivalent to Costco), and they were $560.  Maybe if I can sell my other camera….

  3. These are great!! I love them all, but the colors in the first one are spectacular. I love the framing of that shot too. And the little guy in shot #4 is TOO CUTE with his hand over his mouth- he is sure a little spitfire I am sure. All the pictures are great! I love the eyes in all of them. Really great pictures.Happy Father’s Day Rich!

  4. I had the same experience with thinking the pictures looked better on the camera’s monitor than on the screen of the computer. My photographer brother-in-law gave me a piece of advice that has worked very well for me – get to understand how your camera works and use it on manual most of the time – the results are much better than on auto! If you play around with it like this you will find you can get some really great results by adjusting the shutter speed and aperture. You may have known this all already – just my 5c worth… ~Colleen~

  5. I don’t know *how* you capture these moments with the kids. The one with daddy kissing his kids good-bye….perfect! Do you just walk around with camera in hand all day!? Too cute.~C

  6. Your camera works great I love how you can focus on the person and the back ground becomes blury so the focus is on the person!!! That was so nice of your hubby to get that for you. What a perfect hobbie too.

  7. I am so so so excited for you!  I love the picture of David with his hand over his face laughing.
    Rich had good taste! 🙂
    You do deserve it Shanda.
I remember holding my Nikon on my lap the whole ride home. We drove an hour to get it b/c the stores in our area did not have it. I kept looking down at it afraid to use it and trying to imagine all the images I would capture with it.
What a wonderful gift, I am sure you will put it to good use!

  8. What a beautiful family you have!  I loved the recent post with the photo of you, your sister, and your dad.  That is precious!  I hope you have a great day!  Love, Lish

  9. Laughing, pensive, gentle, handsome children. Your subjects are wonderful (I love their eyes!) and your photography is great. We are all going to be happy about your new camera. Love, Maxine
