prayer

Hello Xanga friends!  Not much new here–David is over the stomach-bug and everyone else is still healthy (other than some sniffles).  We had a day of rain yesterday but this morning looks lovely and the sun is shining.  My only complaint is my back is hurting me, I ask for prayer that it would get better.   I hurt it months ago but I am beginning to realize with all the lifting, twisting, carrying that I do it probably doesn’t have a chance to heal.  I’ll be taking some pain-killers this morning and am somewhat discouraged about it.  Thankfully, I have a God who cares and gives me what I need.

PRAYER

We have to pray with our eyes on God, not on the difficulties.  ~Oswald Chambers

When you pray, rather let your heart be without words than your words without heart.  ~John Bunyan

When thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do:  for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.

Be not ye therefore like unto them:  for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

After this manner therefore pray ye:

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come.  Thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:

For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever.  Amen.

  1. Sorry to hear you have been suffering with back pain.  Not fun….and I certainly will be praying for your healing.  You’re probably right, lifting is hard on you, but it’s nearly impossible to avoid when you have little ones.  I enjoyed the pictures, and your posts are always so inspirational and encouraging.  Blessings to you today!!

  2. What a lovely post.  Isn’t it awesome on your 4th photo, how that cloud dips down into the hollow of the trees?  And I know that last shot will be a treasure for you ~    Hope you feel better soon, dear girl ~ got a hot tub?

  3. Do you remember the prayer closet at college?

  5. Booo— we hate back pain! I will certainly pray for you because I have a burden for that. I was in an accident when I was a kid which caused a fracture in my back. It healed crooked, and now the discs have collapsed. I do exercises to keep the muscles in my back strong. I am trying hard to avoid surgery. When I hurt, I will pray for you, OK? Lovely photos! Food for the soul.

  6. I am praying for you- that you will be feeling better soon!  The verses, pictures, and quotes are all wonderful.  Thank you for this lovely post- even when you aren’t feeling well.

That Corrie Ten Boom quote is perfect.  I have something to write along those lines as well.

  10. Ouch… I am praying that God will give you full healing soon. So glad to hear David is well again and the others didn’t catch it. I LOVED all the quotes and scripture you used today and your pictures are stunning as always. I really like the one of the sun shining through the trees.
