a song for you

When I looked at Grace this morning, still in her nightgown, I couldn’t take my eyes off her.  Of course every mother thinks that their own child is the “sweetest and the best” (to borrow an expression from an “Anne” book) and I am no exception.  I made her go out on the porch with me where the light was better and I took these pictures of her.  I love her hair, her brown eyes, and the way she wrinkles her nose when she smiles.

I found the song lyrics on a Disney website.  Even though I can’t remember how the tune goes, I still thought the words were fitting for this group of pictures of darling daughter Grace.   Enjoy!

“With a smile and a song
Life is just a bright sunny day. . . .

Your cares fade away
And your heart is young”

“With a smile and a song
All the world seems to waken anew. . . . .

Rejoicing with you
As the song is sung”

“There’s no use in grumbling
When the raindrops come tumbling. . . . .

Remember, you’re the one
Who can fill the world with sunshine”

“When you smile and you sing
Everything is in tune and it’s spring
And life flows along
With a smile and a song”

  1. Oh, how fun!!  She’s adorable!  I finally got my new digital camera — a Nikon D40X — I’ve taken some pictures (some pretty good, some pretty bad!) — now need to read up on how to get them on the computer — I have a lot of learning to do!!  I’m excited.  It’s “a lot of camera” but I’m hoping to take a photograpy class at a local community college and learn how to use it — I even have my son interested in going with me – hooray!  I hope I can take pictures as nice as your someday.

  2. Good morning….you have a very beautiful daughter. Love the pictures!! and of your day at the beach. I had to laugh about the pics with your sons snoozing……I’ve seen my youngest son slouched over in his high chair when he was younger fast asleep in his cereal…..lol!  Precious memories…have a great day in your beautiful surroundings….

  3. Great song… I started humming it as soon as I read the title =o)

If you really want to know how it ‘goes’…log onto iTunes and search the music store for the title. It will bring up clips of a variety of arrangements of it….enjoy!
