I still find each day too short for all the thoughts I want to think, all the walks I want to take, all the books I want to read and all the friends I want to see. ~John Burroughs
someone I noticed on my walk today, it looks like this plant is covered in ice, but it’s actually water droplets!
Is this not the wettest plant? I bet if I wrung it out I would get a glass of water!

I just had to laugh when I saw this on my rug:
Poor Bessie and her lost hind quarters
Dinner Reviews:
I made a new dinner tonight. It was a rice, broccoli, and chicken casserole. Here is what the family had to say about it:
“It was a little good and a little bad. It was medium. Actually, Mom? It was disgusting.”
“It was good. Make it again!”
“Well, you know I don’t like broccoli, Mom. So. . .next time you make it would you leave it out?”
“It’s great! Don’t change a thing!”
Me: ???!!!!!!!?????!!!!!!???

Well, I’m on my way to bed with some Ben and Jerry’s ice cream!
Good night!

My kids never seem to all like the same things. Especially caseroles…I did a broccoli casserole earlier in the week and the only one who liked it was me and Madelynn. Rog wasn’t terribly impressed (but he likes to disguise the taste of broccoli anyway.)
Too funny about the cow – poor thing. Life with a dog!
Love You and talk to you soon. – Col
mmmm….I just finished some ice cream….after walking on the walking track. =)
is that ice on that plant? very interesting looking.
Well, you know those roses were mostly for your enjoyment! I loved this post…very funny.
I loved the commentary on dinner – too funny!! You’re a good sport!
The dinner sounds good I think I would have been on the side of Rich with this meal!
Dinner sounds good to me! All my girls like broccoli, but we haven’t convinced Daddy or Jacob yet. I was just thinking about reading “A Tangled Web” again. Great pictures of the plant!
My David likes both chicken and broccoli, but if he does not like the meal, he takes a few bites then declares that he is full.
It sounds like a good meal to me. 🙂 I’m sure with that big of a family you certainly can’t please everyone. We have a couple of chewed up toys at our house, too.
mmmmm, sounds good! (dinner and the ice cream)
ah family! they are ever so helpful at recipe time aren’t they? lol
Somehow today I just really noticed the roses at the top of your page – I just love them!!! And I really enjoyed the quote you started out with about each day being too short…that’s my day everyday! ~Colleen~
Can I just say again how much I enjoy your blogs!! Funny, thoughtful, great photography and just a treat in my day!!!
LOL~I never thought about the odds of pleasing everyone’s tastes at dinner time. I cook a similar recipe using canned mushroom soup and chedder cheese with the chicken and brocoli, then serve with rice. Luckly my husband and daughter like it.Poor bessie…looks like puppy found her.ryc on photography…I’m so blessed to have met many wonderful photographers…God has helped to fill the void left after homeschooling was finished. My hope is that my picturs will bless others and glorify God
lol! =)
I could just hear my youngest daughter offering the same comment as Grace… Not wanting to hurt my feelings but not wanting to lie either. How sweet!!!Poor Bessie!!!
Your dinner sounded good to me. My family is so picky that I have to stick to the meat and potatoes meals. Ice-Cream sounds yummy too. Have a wonderful day.
Your blog is a blessing…funny, thoughtful, and great pictures too. Thanks.
the dinner review cracks me up!:) So typical that half the kids like it/half hate it….makes you wonder what on earth there is left to make!
