The kids and I went for a walk yesterday.

Did you spot the boys in the first picture?

Whenever I get out in the woods I don’t want to leave.

We heard an owl.  I wanted to go try to find it but a 19 month old really slows me down.  (not that I mind, he was so so so so so so so CUTE)

I noticed this tree. . . . .and it’s rings.  This picture makes me think about God and eternity. . . because of the circles. . .because He took the time to create trees with rings in them.  No man would have thought of the extra details and it certainly didn’t “just happen”.

Decomposing wood. . . .it has a wonderful outdoorsy smell.  The bark is soft and the tree inside is now a rich and dark brown earth.  I love the color.

I’m leaving tomorrow morning to go to my parent’s house all by myself for 4 days!  I am busy today doing laundry (it never ends!)  I also took the kids to the library, went to the grocery store, and I am making a pile of things to take with me.  I’ve also been printing some pictures.

There is still lots to do, including the rest of the school day!

The weather is mild and warm.

The children are all resting now so I’m going to go have some tea.

Tea anyone?

  1. Rachel just brought me a cup of tea with honey.  It was lovely.  Have a wonderful time at your parents’ house!  RYC- no, it wouldn’t be to CT, that was a sweet thought, though!

  2. If you ever publish a coffee table book of your photography…I want to be first on the list for an autographed copy!!! I LOVE your photos. Their gorgeous.
    Your biggest fan,

  3. Have fun at your parents!  It is warm today, but it’s getting cloudy and by the end of the week will be in the 40s again!

  4. Sure, would love to come for tea!  But I’m wondering how in the world you found time for that on a day of getting ready to leave with all the many things to do. =)  Hope you have a Wonderful time!!

  5. I am counting down the days till our lunch on Friday!  You know how much I love the woods as well.  It brings back all of those childhood memories of playing in them.  They were out hide outs, forts, friends, or playground.  Do you remember when we made the “fairy village” in the “dark woods”?  We used stuff we found in our walks in the woods.  We were and still are very creative and imaginative people.  This shows so well in your photography.
Love you a bunch – can’t wait to get see you for a couple of hours, to reminisce, and make new memories!

  6. Pour a cup for me please, wish I lived close enough to really stop by and enjoy a cup of tea with you. Yes I spotted your boys climbing the tree, that is exactly where my boys would be. I too LOVE being in the woods, I grew up playing in them daily. Have a wonderful, peaceful visit at your parents house…. come back refreshed.
    Love,
    Michelle

  7. Oh wow…I hope you have an awesome time.  I’ll miss you, but I know you need the time away.  I hope you have a fabulous time.  I hope I’ll see you tonight, or will I? 🙂  Love you.  -Trish

  8. I am so excited that you get to have some time to yourself and to enjoy time with your family. I know that you are going to love every minute. I can’t wait to hear about it when you get back. I love your pictures, as does everyone else. 🙂 Have fun and we’ll miss you while you are gone. Love, Tara

  9. I’d love some tea. Ijust stop by to tell you thank you for you wonderfully sweet comment on my site :o)
The pictures of the woods are great as always. I love the woods also. When I was a child my mom and dad couldn’t keep me out of them.
    God bless   Kelly

  10. We are a lot a like. I love the outdoors so much. I feel it so close to God when I am out there and you capture His beauty in your photos all the time. God bless! Lynn

  11. Yes! I spotted them right away!  When I come to visit, you tell them “Aunt JO” will climb with them!
The colors in the birch are so rich!
You need one of those heavy duty back packs to put him in, if only they didn’t cost hundreds!
Can I just say that it is so wonderful that you can live at a place where you can hear owls?  My sister lives where she can hear coyotes…just makes me ache inside to get in the woods.
