“Boy, I liked that man in there who took my order,” I said as I hopped cheerfully back into the van where my children were waiting. I had just bought myself a chai tea from Dunkin Donuts. “He said to me, ‘What can I get for you, Young Lady?’ and when he handed me my drink he said, ‘There you go Young Lady, have a nice day!”
One of the kids immediately laughed and said matter of factly, “He must be from the western northern part of the country. Like. . . .Wisconsin.”
“He must not know that you have five children of your own.”
“And three cats and a dog.”
So. There I have it. My children helpfully explaining why the nice man was WRONG.
What a great way to start the day…with a good laugh!! Have a great day Sis.
Don’t listen to them, young lady! It’s all about perspective! :- ) Your kids can’t think of you as a young lady, but I can, and I’m not even from Wisconsin! Thanks for your great comments! Blessings!
Very Funny. And why Wisconsin??? That made me laugh. And I still think you’re young even if you ARE older than I am. :0
You look young to me.
LOL I LOVE the different prospective kids can give. I think you look very YOUNG for a Mom of 5 children, 3 cats and a dog. Have a joyful day. Love, Michelle
happy is always a good way to be.
have a wonderful and blessed week!
hello. browse meetin new pple. hope you don’t mind. come by sometime to say hi
Dear Young lady,
I have found that even if a person is sixty with more kids and Grandkids and double your pets, can be young, because she has guarded her mind and heart and fought to keep a healthy attitude. You are young, Own it sister!!! LOL!
That is what I would be yelling over the kids if I was in the van!
From the mouth of babes! lol
Very funny, young lady!
Well, young lady, I would like that server as well! š Blessings on your day
Honey….Any mom as pretty as you are and can do a cartwheel should definately be called, “young lady”! Yes siree bobbie!
Blessings and hugs! ~Amelia
You look really young to me. Especially the pictures of you upside down standing on your hands!!Blessings,Angie
It does not ever matter how early you had hem, to our children we are all old, and or parents are ancient.
That is cute!! Wisconsin……yes, indeed you have to be careful from those kind of people! š
LOL…children always keep us honest
Ah… kids say the cutest things!
I also love old hymns, pre 1900’s are the best, and O Sacred Head Now Wounded is one of favs! I sang it in a trio in jr. high school at State Compatition many moons ago, and we won 1st! I think the reason I love old hymns, is the vocals are wonderful. Most didn’t have instruments, so all harmony and rythym had to come from voices. Our church has services twice a year at our old old church, hymn sings, and I just love it. The old men are taping shoes on the worn floorboards, the acousitcs are great, and we are using our old Brethren Hymnal. Great songs in there! Thanks for reminding me.
Too Funny! They will soon learn how their young minds put a vail over how aging really works. You ARE a young lady and I think you always will be, afterall, we will live eternally! Love, Elisha
That’s funny! Love the birthday pics!
Very cute! I don’t think he was from Wisconsin…I live there and hmmmm…not that nice here! Maybe the south!?! š
Oh My!! That’s funny!
Hold on to the nice memory. And maybe, just maybe go back to Dunkin Donuts every once in awhile for a reminder. Your kids are funny. I interpreted what they said as being full of respect for what you are and all that you do. You’re not just some young filly with no experience you are a mom, great and wonderful and full of strength. Thanks for sharing the smile though!!
*giggle* that post made me laugh. I can totally see the whole scene….so funny! I just love kids for their pure hearts and the way they say things. And, for the record, you ARE a young lady š
Your children dont make you old!!! As long as your young at heart!
Funny story i loved it
Jo’s comment (above) made me laugh and I agree wholeheartedly! OWN IT! you are as young as you make up your mind to be. Being a young lady in heart and in spirit is much more important than your age. That being said, I have met a few women who were young in years but old in spirit and fainthearted and weak in heart. Young, vibrant, positive, happy spiritied and youthful women are beautiful and a blessing! š
What a delightful story! Children do say the most precious things!
Shanda, you are young girl! You look young too. š Kids say the cutest things. I can see my daughter saying “Mom, how can you be a young lady, you are almost 30!”. Oh, how funny, you made me smile.
I guess being their great Aunt Colleen would make me ancient.
Oh well…as the saying goes “you are only as old as you feel.” You apparently are feeling pretty young for the cashier to notice.
Love You my young niece!
Col
My dear ~ you ARE young ~ AND you look young too.
Too funny!!!!! You look very young to me… To a kid… EVERYONE is old… I used to think 21 was soooooo old… geez, now that I’m 21, it doesn’t seem so bad!! lol Hope you are having a most wonderful day today! *hugs* ⤠Jami
cute š
Well, you’re younger than I am, so I’d say you’re a young lady. I still feel young myself. š take care..Love, Trish
Awwwww. Well, I think you definitely look like a Young Lady!!!
Made me laugh. Children are so refreshingly honest.
